4.5 weeks and 9 carriers on the Southampton to Baltimore route have passed, but my SE is still waiting for its ride. :(

You can trust that I will post an update as soon as that next step happens. ;)

This is bummer news. I think I’m going to try to get myself used to the thought of my Mini being a Christmas present.

More bad news: MINI is cutting 400 of 950 jobs and reducing the number of daily shifts from 3 to 2 at Plant Oxford. This reduction in force does not bode well for timely deliveries.

Picked up my car yesterday! Only an eight month wait, but worth it!

Looks great! The revolite wheels are nice-looking, I'm thinking of those for my winter wheels.

It's kind of hard to believe it when the car you've been waiting for so long is finally here. If your experience is like mine, it's really amazing to find that your new SE is everything you hoped it would be. I was afraid I'd hyped myself up too much and the car could never live up to my expectations.

I've spent too much time reading test-after-test, watching video-after-video, soaking up every unique tidbit as it's revealed, refuting the commenting trolls complaining about the SE's range and MINI's reputed reliability problems. It's a tough time in one's life, but waiting for a great new car is one of the few ways to slow the headlong rush of time. But you made it. Congratulations!

Holy crap, fast progress now... blew straight through assembly begins and in assembly and now in quality check. Excellent.

Yes, you're correct about that Insightman! When I'm home or at work, I periodically stare out the window to make sure it's there and it wasn't a dream. So far the car has lived up to the hype. The range issue is a silly argument IMO. The acceleration is ridiculous! I'm still learning about different features and probably have only driven 40 miles so far...

@LazyPanda, be sure to type your response after the /QUOTE tag from the post to which you are responding. It you type your response before the /QUOTE tag, it's tough to tell where your response begins.

MINI's Plant Oxford can churn out more than 1,000 MINI Coopers a day (at least it can until they cut back to 2 shifts, which will reduce the capacity to 800-900 cars a day). So it's easy to believe your MINI Cooper SE will pop out the door on 9/9.
