If my SE has aftermarket software, it was installed before I took delivery. My SE was built at the end of July. Maybe they updated the software configuration just ahead of the August shut-down?
I figured as much. I like to think you inadvertently got UK software, or beta. You seem to have a unicorn SE!
I had a chat on this with MINI service and did some research, since I was hoping to replace the light switch. It turns out dual red rear fog lights are illegal in the US, supposedly because they can be confused for brake lights. What? And so? I guess they're required in the EU, so MINI's answer of just removing the switch for the US market is pretty clever. My R56 rear fog light was a single red light on one side (other side was the reverse light), so it was legal I guess.
Now for the all-encompassing burning question (not really): Do all US trim levels have the projector in the side mirror that shines the mini logo on the ground?
While it sounds silly and inconsequential, I was initially pretty excited that the Australian version of the SE, which is the equivalent of the Iconic level trim in the US, might include the door projector feature. Alas, it seems it does not. Here's hoping that US buyers have better luck.
I just double checked the Australian dealer specification guide and it turns out I was wrong. Ifound the following included in the spec. sheet: "MINI logo projection from driver side mirror" So I'm pretty happy about that!
Yeah, but your passenger won't see the puddle in which she's about to soak her favorite shoes. I wonder if there's a way to add the logo projector to the passenger's mirror without affecting the tilt-down-when-backing-up feature? I don't use the tilt-down feature (I'm glad they let you turn it off), so the question is if the wiring is ready and willing to power an opposite-hand drive SE's logo-projector mirror (and still allow me to reposition the mirror)?
I'm often folding my mirrors (such as when I park in my garage), so the projector mostly hits the door. I preferred the older MINIs that had the projector in the bottom of the door.
Hey GvilleGuy, you wouldn't believe how much time I have spent attempting to find where I saw this chart a few days ago. Have you updated it since you first posted it? I love it. Maybe you could get a link to the chart added to FAQ by Domenick to make it easier to find. Just a suggestion. Appreciate your efforts. Thanks, DeWayne
This thread is already #6 under the FAQ. And the first post in this thread has the link to the shared photo album where I post updated stats once or twice a month. The numbers don’t change, on overage, very often. But I’m overdue for an update. We’ve had a few more 2022s enter the queue the past month.
Yep, I now realize that is probably where I originally saw it. Maybe title could include "Pie Chart" That's what I searched for and could not find anything. But thanks.
We have a nice number of "new" orders being tracked now. I am re-setting the production/delivery tracking to only track 2021 orders (which includes a few 2021 model year orders, but mainly 2022 model year). And I've excluded some single stats that came from the model year transition - example - mine and @bldxyz 30-day+ delay from deposit date to order accepted. But our other values are included. All other stats (trim choices) are still for all time. The Electric Collection is now moving into our charts! And BRG has taken over as the top color choice. At least for this week. The shared album at this link has been updated, and the photos are also included below. https://www.insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?media/albums/mini-stat-tracking.80/
Does MINI allow the SE to be ordered with the 18" Pulse Spoke wheels? If so, is that the only 18" wheel one can order?
No. I specially asked my salesman to put pulse on the order, and it was rejected. So I went with scissor spokes. EDIT: They only allow 17s and 16s on the SE.
