Happens to me all the time. I thought it was just me until my wife said the same thing. Too many issues with this car. Not sure if it's a Honda or Clarity issue but all of it is annoying.

Our license plates are visible anytime our cars are out in public. Being visible online adds no additional risk.

Yes but in public, nobody has any additional information on me. Here, my license plate would be associated with my account and that is associated with my email. There's a trail and public posts. In public, I'm just another car, here I have opinions that some may or may not like. Definitely not the same.

Actually to anyone viewing this forum you are only Kranberry :) It's an anonymous forum, like most forums no one has to give any personal information. Only the administrators of the site have your email address. And anyway license plate numbers aren't searchable online.

Sure the common wisdom is even if unlikely you can never be 100% sure, so why take the chance. Fine when it doesn't make a difference. But people say all the time don't program the "Home" feature in your GPS with your real address because someone who steals your car will know where you live. But I think the odds that someone will steal my car then drive straight to my house to rob it are astronomical. I find the Home feature to be very convenient and I'm not going to give it up for one in a million odds that something bad will happen because of it. In your case you have a video that might help other people see the problem that you are having but you are concerned about your license plate number being visible, I think the risk benefit equations points to not worrying about it. But that's just my opinion.

Well, I can’t read your license plate, but I can see you in the reflection and will be running the image through the secret Honda customer facial recognition database momentarily.

PS thank you for remembering to wear clothes before recording

    ;)

Man you're doing stuff so fast, I got lost as if this was a shell & cup game. :) Anyways, I'm going to guess it could be the physical trunk button is glitchy.

Like I said, things are happening so fast I can't really tell but if you're doing a lock sequence in that video there is a short time out feature during which the button won't pop the trunk. This is so one can test if the vehicle is locked before walking off; otherwise, you'd never be able to tell. Same thing with the doors.

Ever change the FOB battery as previously suggested?

    Sequence

Try manual trunk button doesn't work
    Press open doors
    press lock doors
    press open trunk
Try to close trunk (not hard enough) beeps
    try to close trunk beeps
    close trunk no beeps
bring fob close to trunk and it beeps and opens
    close trunk no beeps
bring fob close to trunk and it beeps and opens
    try to close trunk beeps
    close trunk no beeps
Try manual trunk button doesn't work
    use button to open trunk
    close trunk no beeps
bring fob close to trunk and it beeps and opens

    End of video

I haven't tried changing the battery as everything normally works, no issues. Also this is not the original video but a retake as it happened again. Manual trunk button works 99% of the time. I also get a similar incident with the front door handle not working, but I haven't done any testing of trying to get it to work.

I have a suggestion which may or may not be worth anything.
It might be a mechanical and not a purely electronic problem. I noticed it didn’t always latch when you were trying to shut it. Could it be that the latch needs adjusting? Can’t tell for sure but might be worth having the dealer look at for possible adjusting. Mine shuts and latches with just a one finger gentle push.
