sorry to revive this post but I just got the Weathertech liners for my 2022 Mini SE and WT provided the posts so you can secure the liners. However, I can't see any existing holes to secure the posts to the floor. Do I have to remove the existing velcro that's currently installed to hold the carpet mats? I just want to make sure before I yank it out. Thanks.

Yes you need to remove the Velcro but don't just pull! They twist 1/4 turn then pull out.

See here (removal is the reverse of installation):

Got it. Thanks! At first I thought there was supposed to be a hole on the existing velcro where you just push in and twist the anchors provided by Weathertech. Also, the anchors only twist clockwise (I tried twisting CC but maybe my fingers are just not that strong enough lol) so whoever's reading this, make sure you install the anchors facing the right side (if you're inside the vehicle) so when you twist 1/4 turn (clockwise), the anchors are facing the rear of the car as they are intended to be to hold the liners in place.

This is the one I got in anticipation of my imminent SE, when on sale via Amazon. I always hate the carpet floor mats, and also love the WeatherTech. The OEMs look great and are functional for my anticipated needs.

I twisted mine out counterclockwise by using another scrap of velcro to grip but I'm pretty sure the direction of twist doesn't matter (it's either locked or unlocked). Definitely not much to hold on to with them!

First, reviving old threads is a good idea because it collects relevant questions and answers in one place.

Second, when I saw those posts, I returned the Weathertech floor mats and got 3D Maxpider all-weather mats, which I should have bought in the first place after years of liking them in our Honda Clarity PHEV. The 3D Maxpider mats fit perfectly and have a bottom surface that grips the carpet like Velcro, making extra mounting posts unnecessary.

I don't recommend the Mini all weather mats after 6,500 miles of use. The cool Mini logos on them just get all scratched up, and the edges don't have enough of a lip to keep outside crud from getting all around the perimeter of the carpet. Grass is difficult to vacuum out of the carpet fibers. I will eventually replace them with a product with a higher lip - like WeatherTech or Maxpider.

I've been using MINI all-weather mats in my Clubman and am happy with them. But they are essentially rubber versions of the carpeted floor mats. In my SE I have the MINI all-weather floor liners, which are like WeatherTechs. They have high edges and my only complaint is I get standing puddles during the winter.

I have the Lloyds mats “Northridge” and am very happy with them. FEE78448-03A4-4D79-B107-645E958D0855.jpeg

Do you know the difference between the one they are offering "with luggage compartment tray" and "no luggage compartment tray"? Which one did you get?

I remember that description confused me too so I emailed them and they told me which one was the cargo area with the platform set to level. Can’t remember which it was but the other is for the well under the platform. I’m sure if you email they will tell you. I do remember it’s the bigger one of the two.

I pulled mine from my 2016 Mini for the front and got new for the rear. I liked them that much.

  16. Weathertech are the best that I have ever seen. I won’t bother with the rear seat floor mats because I may have a rear seat passenger once in any calendar year.

No need for me to buy when what I have is asthetically pleasing to me and they work well. I personally wouldn't avoid them after owning with 2 cars. The back seat is used in my car regularly.

I ordered a set of the front 3D Maxpider mats from Amazon based on @insightman’s strong recommendation. (No one will ever ride in the back of mine so I didn’t bother with a set of four. :D) Will share my two cents on them once they arrive in 10 days or so.

those are the ones I want to get. Is there a good online store?

the black carpet ones that came with our 2022 show dog hairs bad and we have to shedding labs.

You can buy the all weather floor mats direct from MINI, or through the parts department at your dealer.

I received the 3D MAXpider mats that @insightman liked so much — and I can see why; they’re beautifully made — but I’m sending them back because they wouldn’t fit (too big). Strangely, the black pair of front mats I ordered from Amazon are no longer on their site, and the manufacturer’s site (3dmatsusa.com), which I checked after I received the ones from Amazon to see if maybe I was sent the wrong model, says they don’t sell anything that will fit the SE.

So a big shrug from me, and on to Plan B.

I decided to get the MINI All-Weather Floor Liners (@Puppethead Approved :D) because they have a tall lip around the edge to hold plenty of winter detritus like the WeatherTech mats, but with the advantage (in my opinion) of being held in place by convenient Velcro patches just like the standard carpeted mats. (Note: These Liners are different from the MINI Essential All-Weather Floor Mats, which lack the tall WeatherTech-like lip.)

But I ended up buying them this afternoon on eBay for $25 over retail (which is still $10 less than the WeatherTech equivalent) because every online MINI parts store I tried to order them from said they were discontinued (!) and I didn’t feel like waiting until Monday to ask my local dealer if they can get them.

Somehow I’ve managed to keep my standard carpeted mats from getting trashed by winter so far — surprisingly, they still look almost new — but I can’t wait to replace them with some proper rubber mats (excuse me, liners) that I won’t need to treat gingerly at all.

Whoa! Even the Shop MINI USA site lists the front liners as out of stock (rears are still available, apparently).

Bummer! I'm perplexed because mine fit perfectly. I ordered mats to fit a MINI Cooper F-56, not special mats for the SE. I'd be surprised if the 2022 MINI Cooper S or SE has different floor dimensions than the 2021 I have. I'm sorry this happened and that the manufacturer is clueless.
