I guess I've been lucky with my ICE cars. I had a 2012 Golf TDI, which I absolutely loved, that never needed any sort of repair in 6 years. I had free maintenance from the dealer for the first three years, and after that I did what needed to be done myself. Of course, there was the whole Dieselgate fiasco, but that worked out just fine for me because VW bought the car back for almost the same price I paid when new, so I got a new ICE car for very little money. It also worked out well for all of us EV owners, because Dieselgate is basically why we have Electrify America. I'm still sad about having to sell back my TDI (it was a manual and I could get over 50mpg and 700 miles to a tank on occasion), but my SE is quickly healing that wound!

Glad you are ok primarily. Secondarily, sounds like a great time to upgrade wheels! Always a silver lining!

    Love the Black Tentacles !!!

Parts have been ordered. Estimate at this point is $7,300. Estimates are 4-6 weeks for their arrival. Everyone taking the over?

I am swapping out the tires. Will put the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires on now since 3 of the Goodyears got smoked.

Do you have to get a rental, or do you have an ICE to cover you while the SE is down?

When I ordered my Spectre Grey Revolites from Germany (via local MINI dealer) they actually arrived about a week early, so here's hoping. At least the parts you need don't have computer chips in them...

Our Mini SE is a third vehicle in our family. I primarily drive a 2015 BMW 328i Sportwagon and my wife has a 2020 Ford F-150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost V6. Truck is fast. We took it on a 2200 mile east Comcast college tour a few weeks ago and got 21mpg overall.

So we have a good mix of vehicles to drive. Before the accident the Mini was getting the most mileage driven in normal running around. We put 5200 miles on her since delivery in April. We miss it !!!!

Wow - I got mine in April and you have me doubled on miles! Nice. We have four drivers: three ICE plus the SE. Our Santa Fe is 'down' now without working A/C - 95 degrees in SC = no driving the Hyundai. I'm glad we have the SE to pick up the slack while I get that repaired.

Still waiting on parts. Most are in but not enough for the dealer to get started with the repairs. A BMW specialist is coming in to assist on the battery housing replacement. They hope to get started next week.

Waiting on parts over a month - that is discouraging! I hope they get it done quickly after getting what they need.

Mikeg0305 did you finally get your SE out of the shop? I don’t recall seeing a wrap up on this thread.
