It takes quite a while to do. Best is to have something else to do while you wait for download, verification and install. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
Only problem is I don't have a spare SD card with sufficient capacity. Hope taking out and using the car's SD card is not a mistake. I will back it up first.
Is it OK to take out the car's SD card and drive it? My wife wants to go shopping right now, and would like to remove and set it up, if that is OK.
Yeah, as long as she remembers the way back home it's no problem. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
Got my update completed. Did have a few interesting moments. First it didn't like my SD card from the car, that I had just deleted the old files. Reformatted it and then it worked. Took forever to complete on the SD card. Stayed at 1% for the longest time, and had me wondering if it was in some kind of loop. But I kept checking Properties, and it was slowly building the files. It finally did complete, but then the Manual download wouldn't work on my computer, did not seem to like my Adobe reader. However, I had another version of it downloaded separately, on how to update it in the car. So I turned on the car, and inserted the SD card with the new map update. It then told me the SD card was incompatible. However, I proceeded to the System Update, and it seemed to be good with it. So not sure what that was all about. Anyway, I did the Update, and it finished in about 20 min or so. And everything seemed to come up properly, and all looks good. So I guess it worked. I attached a pic with the new version info. I see the only diff from the prev poster is the first line where it shows 190504 instead of 190401. But the version number is the same.
Just curious if I got it right, once the download completes on the SD card, you just close the program and then install the card into the car and push system update? ( don't manually download to PC?)
You first download to the PC, then to the SD card, which you stick back in the car, where you do the Update. Here are the instructions, pretty self explanatory. https://www.hyundai-gpsmap.ca/mapcare/pub/media/wysiwyg/manuals/HACC_Download_Instructions.pdf https://www.hyundai-gpsmap.ca/mapcare/pub/media/wysiwyg/manuals/HACC_Map_Update_Instructions_133S5.pdf
Found this describing "Iron man edition" Apparently they changed the DRLs to resemble the glowing eyes of Iron mans mask and the hood to look like a heat extractor vent c/w Iron Man trim pieces. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/07/20/2018-hyundai-kona-iron-man-edition-is-way-more-subtle-than-the-a/
I see there is now an update available, but the website won't let me download it. It wants me to order a sd card for $30 through the mail. What is this all about? I downloaded and installed the first update a few months ago. (Canada version)
I cant download either. KonaTom,,we got that update earlier. I see the only difference is the longer sw version number.
I’m hoping a lot of bugs are fixed and roads are added as well as charging stations that are missing now, but I don’t want to pay $30 to find out. Another bad on hyundai
Yeah, you shouldn't have to pay. However, don't expect to much from the update. Here in Nevada I have still major highways missing and dcfc stations that have been here for over a year! And electrify America stations are popping out of the ground like weed here. But nothing on the Hyundai maps. Plugshare and Google are the only way to go for me here. Yeah . Maybe because I downloaded the map a few months ago . It has bugs and this new version was issued to fix them. I should be able to download it too, but the link is missing on the page for me
