In case your dealer, like mine, was a little vague about updates to the map data, in Canada we are entitled to free updates twice a year for 5 years. If you want to get them yourself, go to https://www.hyundai-gpsmap.ca/mapcare/ . I'm told that it takes a month after purchase for your VIN to be recognized on this site. Hopefully new versions will have better data on charging stations.
Nope, but it said it would be registered in about a month after buying (like you said). So I have a reminder set to take a look in a month.
Good to know we can do the updates without going to the dealer. This is one of my pet peeves having to visit a dealer and pay them hundreds of dollars for map updates you get for free from Garmin, etc.
Wondering how that's going to work when we get it here in the US. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
I'm still unable to register my VIN, but the site is now showing that there will be an update in mid-April.
Advised thru contact/support @ HACC Mapcare that my info has been forwarded and added to the database and that all 2019 models will be able to register in April with the release of V13.0 Not sure what version I have now.
Thanks CJC, that's more information than they send me. It will be good to get latest maps as new stations are coming rather quickly.
You're welcome. My message from them was brief and as follows: Hi CJ

2019 model year vehicles will be able to register in April with the release of their first update (version 13).
Same here, I just signed up for it but cannot add my car into the system. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
Wonder why they haven’t come up with an over the air system yet. Physically having to update my maps with an SD cards seems so archaic in a world surround by Tesla.
There is a little latch right under the infotainment screen that you can open. That's where the SD card is. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
I just thought: free updates only "twice a year"? Dang! The roads change so frequently I want to update daily ... That's the advantage of Google maps. I like the turns and distance in the HUD and the integration of range into the built in navigation, though. For everything else Google maps is just so much better. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
Oh I didn't know that. I see it upon looking. But I am thinking we will not need a new SD twice per year and we will download info.?
