Hyundai brought its recently revealed Kona EV to the New York Auto Show and let us know that the longer-range version -- the 250-mile, 64-kWh battery one -- will be sold in the US. The one thing they didn't give was the price. The writer of our article says he expects it will cost in the mid-to-upper $20K range, but that sounds crazy optimistic to me (the base Kona starts at $19,5K, so it's easy to see how he deductively reasoned this, but didn't take the $7,500 tax credit or other incentives into account). I've read $35 to 40K guessed elsewhere, and I think that's probably more likely. I am happy to be wrong on this.
