Motor Trend (the best of the rags but still bribery based) stated its estimate for top tri-motor Cyber HP and Torque at 800hp and 1000 lbft torque. But those are stats for the present dual motor Model S.

    Model S 825hp 958hp

    Dodge TRX 707hp 650 ftlbs

    Ford Raptor 450hp 510 ftlbs

    Chevy Silverado 445hp 650 ftlbs

These weakling trucks with obsolete ICE powertrains have about half the power of a BEV car and can only deliver that power in a narrow speed range with lots of lag off the line or at any speed. They get about 1/7 the fuel economy and they will not give you 500k miles trouble free like the Model S, no they are almost guaranteed to break at high expense over that interval and need regular hassle intensive expensive maintenance. They also make a lot of noise and produce a lot of toxic health destroying pollution and make you look stupid.
I expect the top CT will have 3x to 7x the power of these obsolete ICE relic weaklings.

But back to the bribery based media thing. MT is subscription based but in general that is just people paying to be lied to because the sponsors in sponsored media control what is printed. This is why GM put as much money into paid lying as it did into its useless parasitic 'profit.'

More obsolete of an issue than the powertrains at legacy makes are their obsolete business models. Take GM, over the last decade it sunk 50 billion or more into paid lying and 'profit' for noncontributing parasites. That was value that their customers paid for but didn't get- 50 billion that came out of their customers pockets that was wasted and is reflected in their dwindling market share. BMW is the same thing (despite it being on the right side of CARB) its mission statement is: parasite enrichment organization and to idiotically and catastrophically prolong the use of fossil fuels indefinitely. It spends in the same way GM does. So when its vehicles started spontaneously combusting even when parked and off all around the world causing it to face injunctions it leaned on its paid lying to try to say it was actually Tesla vehicles that were doing this. When its quality is in the gutter which it is (look at its spending patterns and actual reason for being defacto mission statement- could it be otherwise?) it says Tesla has quality problems. In a top end 7 series the start button will a painted plastic button and the paint rubs off. BMWs solution is to ***** and whine incessantly that Tesla needs more switches and knobs all of which make the car much less reliable and then pays to print that Teslas have reliability problems (over things like the knobs it doesn't have) and try to conflate that with non start or strand you issues which BMW has but where a Tesla powertrain with it 18 moving parts is at least 10x more reliable than the obsolete BMW ICE engine/trans and where of course Tesla's with AP on are about 10x safer than BMW so endless whining there too. Notice Andre Nedelia (pure BMW shill- see recent article about old BMW ICE is better than a Model 3) just did some paid FUD about a Model 3 supposedly hitting a parked police car on AP- why is such an obvious paid liar even on the site? If it weren't bribery based media it would find out for the public who was generating these lies and that problem would come to an end quickly. But bribery based medial also has this idea that the commons of speech has been granted to them (it hasn't it is permanent inalienable public property) and that any company with a good reputation without bribing them is getting free propaganda and is stealing from these thieves. Imagine these people whose business is paid censorship, drowning out, spin and outright lying to the public about the public interest think they could be stolen from!!! They only tell the truth as a set up for strategic lies.

MotorTrend is the best of the paid lie organizations but it still screws up big time. Look at what it rated as the top compact luxury was. That Gensis- instead of the Model 3. It would be like saying the Bolt is a better BEV than the Model 3. Model 3 stomped the Genesis pieces in sales, but Gensis was given the nod because Hyundai was spending 7k per car trying to break into the luxury segment- that is what bribery based media looks like. Or when MT gave the FCA Giglia car of the year instead of the Model 3. Same thing here with the CT power numbers- that was the Big 3 begging it through sponsorship (bribes) not to print what it really thought. Same with all these mags try to make the Taycan look quicker than the Model S-always have to do the race wrong to hobble the S like end of Gladiator then they even admit they botch the 2nd. S even beats Taycan on charging speed and so does Y, Y puts on as many miles as Taycan in 15 min vice 22 min but of course its lighter even as it carries more. Of course a pure subscription (no ad) mag could still get bribed and print lies. An honest mag would say say something like Ford threatened to pull its sponsorship and then print that was the case and then print we told them to F off and then print they were getting rid of dumb sponsorship because it was a conflict of interest that meant their actual and legitimate customers couldn't trust them. How much does Mobile One or Insideevs get from VW for having a Taycan rear end on their splash pages and printing Nedelia tripe? That's as much a mark as AOC still taking fossil fuel money after pledging not to and co-'sponsoring' GND and then not even returning it like her GND co'sponsor' Markey did with most of it (notice not enough to unmark him as a total placator.)

Saw another article here about Gates as a huge greenwasher (no mention of greenwashing) buying into battery maker Quantumscape. That should be a huge red flag like Chevron buying into sodium batteries. Honest media would point that out. Instead it wonders why he doesn't advocate hydrogen (would if he could surely because it ramps dirty NG) but talks about his advocating carbon neutrality (that's the new fossil fuel friendly) when it should be asking why he isn't pushing carbon negative- which would work against his actual rabid fossil fuel support.

Saw another article pointing out that Tesla is worth more than 41% of the top 12 global automaker's market cap. The capitalization transfer has only just begun. This isn't just because their tech is obsolete it is because their business model is based on bribing bribery based media (with spam money sponsorship theft of attention) to lie to the public about the public interest while actively resisting what is in the public interest with more ill-gotten gain for entitled rent seeking parasites at the cost of democracy and a livable future. These are net negative public value entities (that hide behind the livelihoods of their employees- hostage taking behavior) that need to be wiped out to make way for the new. Their complacent share holders should have done something about them a long time ago, blind investing needs to be a crime- index funds have a duty to divest fossil fuels and any firm with fossil fuel exposure! They shouldn't be investing in any fund with Caymans involvement either!

Legacy makers are termite ridden old houses. They burn like paper in a wildfire and blow down in a strong wind and wash away in a flood. Protect the workers zero out the complacent investors. Protect democracy and protect the livable future.

Just for fun imagine if these small 2.5 trucks were having as much trouble competing with literally half the car as in the top Lexus instead of the Model S

Lexus 500 19 miles per gallon 416hp 442ftlbs- comparatively pathetic power, totally pathetic mileage

    there numbers scaled would be:

    Dodge TRX 356hp 299ftlbs

Ford Raptor 226hp 235ftlbs (particularly impressive)

    Chevy Silverado 224hp 299ftlbs

Then we could secretly replace the Folgers in these small 2.5 turds with souped up Corolla motors (as above) and not tell the shill rag 'writers' and see if they still hem and haw just much. These things trying to compete with the CT will be like these hypothetical Corolla powered turds trying to compete with the Model S. Imagine what those 4 cylinder turds would sound like with their tuned mufflers to make them seem bigger. Very uncomfortable for the crowd that is all about appearing larger in the shorts.

If I need a pickup truck today, I can buy a Dodge, Ford, Chevy pickup at my local dealer. At this time, the Tesla Cybertruck is vaporware. It does not exist except as a prototype. "The Cybertruck is scheduled to be released in late 2021 for the single-motor RWD version. The dual-motor all-wheel and the tri-motor versions will be released in late 2022." (August 14, 2020, Electrek)

As I write this, Tesla produces just 4 different vehicles. (S, Y, X, & 3) For all of Tesla's success, the company had just a 1.3% market share in the US in 2019 in passenger vehicles. Of course this means that Tesla has the potential for further enormous growth. This is one of the main reasons for Tesla's high stock price.

Disputing over 'press release' cars is not terribly helpful. Let us compare production cars, not 'press release' or other cars that have yet to go through NHTSA and EPA testing. If writers need content and only press releases and press cars are available, call them "Lucid Air press" or "Rivian pickup press" or "Nikola Badger press." There is a big gap between press and production.

@DaleL That's wrong and you know it.

What Elektrek did was apparently try to create confusion with this bs line "The more expensive versions, which are going to start at $49,900 and $69,900, are coming in “late 2021,” while two more expensive versions with more motors and bigger battery packs are going to be available in “late 2022.”" So that it could be dittoed by shills in forums. Elektrek
shut off comments so this attempt to confuse people wouldn't be corrected in their own comments.

What we know from what Tesla has said and what is logical and consistent with
past practice is release of dual and trimotor first about 1 year from now and then the single motor in late 22. No way in hell they are going to lower the bar for the competition or lessen the impact by doing it arse backwards.

But such goes the war on fossil fuels. Today I discovered that this popular author and speaker on personality dedicated a decade of her life to spreading lies about how fossil fuels are good and even founded a couple of organizations to do so. Its the same old issue. Fools who made total idiot investments in fossil fuels to protect against the ponzi's full and final collapse now want to replace democracy with an unsurvivable ultra moronic inbred oligarchy (often with religious overtones.) The kind that would support perpetrating 911 if it meant more profits for them. Just like meth addicted self focused ICE heads with a time horizon that doesn't extend beyond 2 hours. PNAC made about that much sense and always involved replacing democracy with moronic oligarchy and rule by the terminally stupid. There is of course another layer involving race. But allowing this would be undoing the results of civil rights, WWII and the Civil War. If you're forced to pick a side don't pick stupid and evil.
