Hmmm..My phone is Apple, and I don’t particularly want to buy another OBDII dongle. Here’s the situation: I just bought the car. #2 key fob didn’t work, so I replaced the battery. Now the buttons all work, but the doors don’t unlock when you grab the handle, and the car won’t start until you put the fob near the start button. Isn’t it weird that the buttons work but the RFID doesn’t seem to? Everything works fine with the #1 key…♂️ Sent from my iPad using Inside EVs
I've never had to deal with fob failure--I was hoping the thread would have the info you need. It sounds like fob programming isn't your problem if the buttons on your fob work properly.
Just an obscure thought to add to the discussion... I feel like the keyfobs are a little bit finicky to get them together exactly right after disassembly when replacing the battery. I would suggest opening the #2 fob, inspecting everything and carefully re-assemble it. Also, It seems silly because I presume you used a new battery, but you could also consider replacing the battery again while you have it open. It is possible that you had a dud battery, and it would be a small price to pay if another new battery fixes your issue.
And…The FOURTH time I took the remote apart it now seems to work properly. (The first time was to replace the dead-since-car-purchase battery!) I decided the somewhat fragile appearing remotes needed some protection… https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07XKZKKDK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
