Sandy Munro said that perfection for the MBAs who hijacked (and destroyed) the US auto manufacturing was to outsource everything, assemble the parts on a line, and put their badge on at the end. That is what GM did to make our detested Chevette. I suspect something similar will happen here. Some major auto manufacturers will out source major subassemblies from China and assemble them in the USA to claim, "American built." They will put in just enough USA content to meet some part of the Federal IRA rules and give themselves bonuses. The irony is Chinese imports face a 25% 'Trump tariff' which leads to exceptional efficiency challenges. Even if they are too expensive in the USA, they will be a bargain everywhere else. Bob Wilson
