The manual states that when you grab the handle on the drivers side only the drivers door unlocks but when you grab the passenger door all of the doors unlock. But when I'm driving another person I want all of the doors to unlock when I grab the driver side handle so everyone can open their doors. I went to settings and door lock/unlock options and thought I was changing that but after several failed attempts I realize that the setting for unlocking all of the doors is only for when you are already driving and then stop. I realize I can unlock all of the doors with the fob but pulling it out of my pocket when I'm not driving solo seems to defeat the purpose of having a fobless entry and start. So, is there a way to get all of the doors to unlock when grabbing the driver side handle and entering the vehicle? If there is I haven't found it yet.
You could get in and use the button in the door to unlock the rest. Your passengers will just have to be patient for the two seconds that takes
When I grab my drivers handle, ALL the doors unlock. There must be a setting you are missing somewhere. I’m have a look today once we dig out the car. -Skip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No need. Candace helpfully posted an image of the appropriate page in the Owner’s Handbook in post #2 In this thread. I changed mine to unlock all doors. I find in this case that convenience trumps any theoretical compromise to safety. I respect the opinion of those who differ on this.
Just go to Settings/Vehicle/Door-Window Setup/Auto Door Unlock on the center infotainment screen. You can set it to unlock all 4 doors or just the driver’s door as well as other lock settings.
Candace did help me out. The problem I had was that the 'Door Lock/Unlock' setting, which I assumed would cover this situation does not. You need to go Door Setup to find it.
On the topic of door locks. One of the things I really like about the Honda is that you can lock the doors, go around and open the trunk and close the trunk, without it unlocking the doors again
