so my kona started making a whining sound in winter when driving steady around 47 km/hr (I posted about it earlier) which turned into a vibration when summer came.
(no, it's not the motor whine that everyone is complaining about)

so I took it to the dealer, and they said there's two sources of noise, one is the brakes which need to be serviced and the other is .. dum dum! the bearings in the gear/reducer.

so they have to open a case with hyundai engineering and are ordering parts to fix it.

unfortunately I can't really record the vibration, but it's something like a resonant frequency.

when I'm driving at steady speed on smooth pavement somewhere between 45 and 50 km/h the car is starting to vibrate and as long as I stay in that particular speed range it will keep doing it. sounds like when you're driving over a metal grate bridge or over those noise strips on the side of the road.

  3. This sounds much like the noise reported in the last few posts of the hissing thread.
