Price paid, plus dealer info

I really appreciate all ppls who posted their price. Just a suggestion we should do the following way to make the info useful

Bought my clarity yesterday at Penske Ontario, CA. I live at Irvine CA. 26 miles away from Ontario.

I also considered 2018 Camry Hybrid SE (32k OTD) and 2018 Tesla Model 3 (60k OTD). After combining 7.5K fed credit, 1.5k state credit and 500 SGE rebate, HOV Sticker, Clarity beats Camry Hybrid SE. Because I need to pay electric both at home and work, if I drive 12k miles a year, I need to pay 640$ electric for clarity or 1000$ Gas for Camry Hybrid, not a lot of saving.

Tesla has a resale problem and company reliability problem. Can’t understand why many executives left Tesla this year. And Tesla burned a few people to dead after the car accident this year too. It is a rare case but will skip the chance.

I just emailed NiMa in the previous post someone posted. She is very responsive and sharp. I told her i dont want any extended warraty or dealer options etc. no one tried to sell anything to me. If i did not wait for car wash i can be in and out like 30 mins. Here is her cell. ‭951Four5Four96O2‬

I put $5k on my mileage credit card and financed all of the rest. 5xx per month for sixty months at 0.9%. Any mutual fund can beat this rate. I will not pay them off even though i have the money on hand.

I suggest ppl who email to get the best price should drive down to buy instead of using it to do price match. Otherwise a lot of young tech gig sales will not give the best price over the email any more.

 

33500.00 for touring model (37500) before taxes and 495.00 processing.

 

Picking ours up tomorrow here in MA - base model, no dealer options. Paid 30,250 plus TTL & destination for 33k and change OTD. Local dealer matched the mass energy green drive program price offered by a dealer in RI. With MA rebate of $2500 and the tax credit that's 23K and change, so decided not to pass it up. Many thanks to this forum, we were headed for the touring until reading that remote preconditioning was standard on the base version contrary to Honda's promotional materials. We use our phones for nav and my wife and I keep the same seat position, so 3k for a comfy steering wheel and some suede seemed too steep. Replacing a 2006 prius and crossing our fingers.

 

For those of you who purchase a car out of state (I'm looking at CA as they seem to have the best prices, but I live CO), how did you manage sales tax? Do you only pay sales tax for the city in which you register the car? Also - are there any complications getting state tax credits if the car is purchased out of state?

Sales tax is based on where you register I believe.

 

We bought our car in Nebraska and registered it in Colorado. The dealer did not collect any of the taxes or license fees. So all we paid the dealer in NE was for the car, accessories and installation.

We paid the taxes & license fees when we registered the car. I can’t speak to the state tax break yet as we will file for that this year, but I don’t foresee any issues with it since all of our taxes, etc were paid in Colorado.

Based on the very good information in this thread, I was able to get Culver City Honda to match the $33,231 OTD that some people reported for a base model ($30,050 base price) over the phone with Boris Morales. I financed through Honda for 60 months at 1.9% APR, which results in a $581/mo payment as I put no money down. They input my city wrong for the tax calculation and the OTD price rose to 34k-ish and I was about to walk, but Culver City's finance guy offered me 0.9% APR if I bought their key/tire/wheel/glass/paint protection package from him for an extra $7/mo, which I took since my wife is fantastic at curbing wheels and free extra keys seemed like a good thing. I think I probably could have negotiated a little better, but what really mattered in the end was the monthly payment.

 

If you have good credit, there is no reason they should've 'offered' to reduce the APR. You should have asked for the 0.99% straight up since that is honda finance and those rates are published. Should 've pretended to walk but as long as you are happy with what you paid, you should be good.

$30,500 (Plus Tax)+ all-weather floor mats & center console mat for Base version. Honda isn't selling many of these and the dealers in my area have many of them sitting on their lots.

 

Just purchased a 2018 Clarity Touring at Hyannis Honda (only 5 miles from my home) in Platinum White Pearl with Beige leather seats and added a few options including backup sensors, body side molding, chrome lower door trim, rear bumper applique, splash guards, all season floor mats, and trunk tray installed by the dealer for a total of $35,400, plus document/registration fees of $495 and Mass sales tax. Paid cash, no financing. Federal tax credit of $7500 and Massachusetts rebate of $2500 will knock another $10,000 off the price... a great deal for a nice, green car.
Salesperson Peter M was informed and pleasant to work with. No pressure.
Read some concerns here about the possibility of cosmetic damage and rattles/squeaks after all the work required at the dealer to install the backup sensors. Will post my impressions after taking delivery this week and driving for a few days.

 

Paid $31300 before taxes ($34150 OTD) for base model in central texas. It came with tinted windows, floor mats and "e. protection package". I don't know what the last one is. (I saw it after coming home, need to ask them).

 

Paid $33,200 plus tax, DMV fees and tire fee for a touring in NYC for a total of $36,468. NYS rebate of $1,700 was applied to the total at point of purchase. Took advantage of the 0.9% financing for 60 months. The price was contingent on taking out the loan. The dealer makes money on loans so negotiate the price with a loan and you can pay it off right away if you wish.

 

Had a typo above. Interestingly I cannot edit my own post. It is $31,300 before taxes and fees, $33150 OTD. There is $2500 Texas rebate I applied today.

 

any one get a nice price on the touring model recently in Bay Area CA? The internal/email quote is much higher than the previous post.

Car had been sitting in the dealership a while, and they never bothered to charge it. Battery was at 2 bars when I picked it up. Been pleased with the vehicle so far.
