I am just curious to know what happens after we connect level 1 or level 2 charger into nissan leaf. Got this doubt as I thought of the battery charging concept - a battery needs high voltage than its rated voltage to charge. In the use case we are giving only 120v into our car and it still charges the car. Does it step up the voltage to 360Volts? Does the car has a converter that converts the supplied voltage to 360 volts?

Yes, the car has a charger. The charger steps up the voltage and converts the AC voltage, 120 volts or 240 volts, to a higher DC voltage to charge the traction battery.
