Sort of a surprise, I only ordered it Tuesday! But I live about an hour from the factory. I guess they have them in stock. Now just waiting for this to arrive from Amazon. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00HHRYPFK I like not having to tap into the wires. While I mainly got it just for a bike rack, no sense in having a hitch without wiring. And while I have the back torn apart, I'll finish the splash guard install and put in the hooks for the cargo net. Gene 2020 Honda Clarity Sent from my Pixel 3 using Inside EVs mobile app
I heard they made 6, three years ago, and still have 2 in stock. I’m kidding. I didn’t bother with a harness since Honda advises against towing with the Clarity.
I have the Torklift hitch, and only use it for a back rack. My first trip to the dealer, they asked how well it worked for towing... I was able to say it was back rack only. I will probably start towing after 150K miles, let us know how the Tekonsha works out for you.
I bought my Ecohitch from etrailer, and they got it here in 2 days. Installation took me 2 hours and a little. I would never have gotten it right without the outstanding on-line instructions done by Russell Wright independently of Torklift or Ecohitch (whose black & white photos were very difficult to see, and the instructions did not have the useful commentary. Anyway, here's the link to the good instructions: https://idoneitmyself.com/2018/12/25/installing-a-trailer-hitch-on-a-2018-honda-clarity/ THANK YOU Russell Wright!
Got the install done today. About 3 hours working alone. Didn't do the wiring, between the heat and humidity and reinjuring a thumb, I just didn't have it in me to do. I can't add anything useful to the earlier reference in this thread, the instructions from Tork-Lift, and the info here, https://www.insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?threads/2331/, those will tell you what you need to know to do this.
