The grille frame looks awesome (and the car, too!)! May I ask if that is a stick on or a replacement? I watched some YouTube that replaces it but it looks rather complicated. I am getting the 2022 sig+, which seems to have an outer black frame but an inner chrome frame. Not sure if those parts are the same or if there are even available.
Thanks! It is the full OE replacement. It took 15 minutes, so much easier than what I watched on eBay. =)
@GvilleGuy posted a photo of his Iconic SE that arrived today and it doesn't appear to have any chrome in the grille. I don't believe that any of the 2020/21 grille parts carry over to the larger 2022 grille, but even if lower trim levels come with chrome grille components, the black Iconic replacements will be available.
Looks fantastic! Today I am going to get vinyl on my grille, boot handle, side skuttles, and the yellow E badges. After that I will play with deleting all the chrome or not. I need to see how this looks.
I don't know if this is a thing - but aren't emergency responders trained on how to recognize EVs by their badging? I didn't know if removing the yellow might cause problems in the rare instance that an EV is in an accident / fire / flood. Hopefully the lack of tail pipes is something they know to look for!
Its not a thing. =) EV's are pretty common and I can tell you they are not going to look for a little logo in the scuttle to determine. They assess based on the situation. People debadge, rebadge, badge-engineer all the time. 1st responders dont even pay attention.
The engine is marked if needed so they know what to not touch and such. I read someone claiming somewhere in europe it was required but could never find proof. As it is mine are staying, but just turning black with iridescent sparkle.
Yea, mine are likely staying on the sides but with chrome delete. Rear is gone (along with all badging) and the front - no clue yet. Likely just de-chrome it
The initial SE has a yellow "E" badge on all four sides, but the 2022 LCI got rid of them all except for the back one. The front and sides got replaced with a yellow "S". I'd take that to say there's no requirement for any special external badging for first responders.
Lowered and Racks on. - Eibach Lowering Springs - Thule Racks - Yakima Bike racks Wheels are still on back-order! Arghh!
Looks great! Same bike rack as me. I still need to buy a second one for my wife's bike. I only bought one first to make sure it would work out.
Yea, it took a lot of measuring to make sure they would fit. My Kuat's would not and I had to really move these around to get them to fit. My Ibis Riply *BARELY* fits on it, but it does. I will get some pics with bikes on this weekend!
How much lower did you go? The Mini is the lowest car I've had since my old S2000. But now that I have it, I want it lower still! The SE sits a little higher than the S due to the battery. So I do hesitate to override their decision.
