I have a honda clarity hybrid and previously owned a hybrid Hyundai Sonata. Both well undercalculated the mileage I was getting. For instance, on my Honda, the mpg indicator tells me i'm getting 47mpg (when i run mostly on gas) but when i check the mileage based on the amount of gas i put in the tank, and the miles i drive, i would get closer to 40mpg. Is this common?

For the Clarity it does seem to be common. Based on my experience and other posts here, Clarity trip computer seems to inflate the actual mpg number by about 10..12%.

There's a dedicated Clarity sub-forum by the way that seems much more active, looks like you posted in the parent forum (dedicated to Honda in general).
