The styling really isn't bad, its good. But the exterior blue accents must be toned down a bit. Buyer's won't want to stand out on virtue signaling or brand advertising to that degree, has to be more sedate on that blue accenting or removed or should be optional. Has to have a frunk. Can't have a transmission hump. Has to match Tesla on price, charge speed, range and acceleration. Has to have a viable self-driving solution by 2025 but understand that Tesla may have one much sooner. Even if launched now without self driving has to have over the air updates and viable path to upgrade to full self-driving. Really need to look being able to buy on line as well and by pass dealers. Can't change too much from the prototypes. On the i4 that is quite a long hood line and so it should have a lot of frunk or need to find a way to achieve balanced re-proportion without compromising looks.
For iX3- the styling is weak and the features aren't strong enough.
If BMW can't match Tesla on price the ranges still have to be over 300 miles EPA (and start publishing your EPA ranges too, people don't trust WLPTA or NEDA) and charging must be faster than 150kwh better over 200kwh, price can't be much more than Tesla and acceleration needs to be low 4s or lower.
Have to pay attention to the durability of seating materials and don't use plastic switches or knobs or painting on controls that can rub off. Also stop talking about hybrid or modular productions lines, customers don't want to hear it and stop talking about a commitment to ICE because it turns off EV buyers and makes then think an EV by BMW would be compromised. And don't delay any of these launches, BMW needs to launch when it says its going to launch because it is not first. And lets remember in the not so distant future of self driving and voice interactive we don't need many switches or controls. Also, no more offensive marketing, BMW needs to play it straight. Aside from self driving the way forward is art and soul more than science. Situation right now for BMW looks challenging but at least it is not GM!
