Love it, makes me super excited for Genesis equivalent (gv60?)

I have heard the initial shipments will all have SK batteries. Shipments after that will include LG and CATL batteries. Perhaps US release is set to December due to the litigation, and December rollout will include LG/CATL cell shipments? I know Tesla also ship with mix of LG/CATL cells in their Model 3, but I heard CATL batteries perform extremely poorly in harsh environments. I live in Vermont, so I would be worried about ending up with a CATL cell.

    @electriceddy,

Hopefully this kind of answers question #5 "(5) Do the rear seats fold flat (can the risers be removed like Kona)":

Here are (2) PDFs that show the price list of the Ioniq 5 from South Korea. One is the original Korean and the other is the translated one.

Here are a few screen captures of the translated PDF:

  6. Thanks! I see I didn't quite finish filling in the UK price. Oops, been a busy couple of days.

Here are some of the coolest Customizing items:
    LED tailgate lamp
    Mini Refrigerator
    Air mat
    Indoor Table

Like the idea of camping options for the Ioniq 5.

I was actually thinking a folding table or a table that can be share with other passengers. Like this for a VW Eurovan Camper:

Here is a video that goes over design details and color options. Everything looks like computer generated images and video.

  13. Hyundai seems to have it covered by including CATL as part of it's supply strategy:

At 8:27 in the video it looks like the upper door panel is green. Not sure what else is green in the interior. Did find a video that shows the interior color combinations. Quality isn’t great but gives an idea.

I think the tan seats are not available in the US but they look the best to me.

I'm not sure why they added the full length LED on the rear, below the lights or the "moustache" LED's at the front - both kind of detract from the dot matrix style light design rather than add to it, sometimes less is more! (including the silver plastic rear lower section!).

Another South Korean video, looks to be two Ioniq 5 at a mall. I really think this car looks better with a Matte finish. This video also gives you a good look at the 19" wheels.

  21. Speaking of the colors offered I’m not enthusiastic about the monotone offerings. I think matte finishes, silvers and greys are very nice looking but I’m a fan of color, real colors, vibrant and interesting. It’s a modern design trend found in most vehicles to have metallic, monochrome finishes but how about some real choice.

Additionally in terms of my excitement for the car, while I love the design (reminds me of the 80’s VW Scirroco), it’s a bit larger than I prefer. Hopefully as the Ioniq line grows they will add a hot hatch closer in size to the Kona or Bolt. Maybe then they will offer some alternate color choices then for a smaller, sportier car.

  22. Been lurking for a while, watching the EV developments over the last several months (though I don't actually have anywhere to charge one when the time comes... will have to figure that out).

Anyway, the Ioniq 5 is pretty impressive to me. I would have liked to have seen a range of at least 300 miles (EPA. We should really get rid of WLTP one of these days), but we don't really have full details on range (and Hyundai seems to be a bit conservative with their estimates anyway). The bigger battery in the US should help.

The interior doesn't strike me as being quite as *nice* as the Nissan Ariya, but I actually rather like that they've retained a few physical controls. The Ariya and Ioniq 5 are currently at the top of my list for a combination of features and aesthetics...

That said, the colors they've announced for the Ioniq 5 are... dull to say the least. As a big fan of the color red, I'm very much hoping the color selection expands by the time of US release. Is it possible that the currently announced colors are just for the "Project 45" edition?

PS: IMO both the Ariya and Ioniq 5 are more appealing than the Tesla Model Y (I don't like the Model Y's aesthetics, and it's extremely minimalist cabin arrangement). That said, much will depend on what the prices and final range numbers end up like. It would be positively mad for either Hyundai and Nissan to not undercut the Model Y by a significant margin (to make up for the Tesla name and comparatively poor range)
