Again this is clearly a publicity stunt, but EA has one repeat one charger in PA that was specifically configured to charge at 270 KW. Again this does not build out the network, but EA will clearly work with Porsche and other VW brands to make sure they succeed. Again, how soon etc. is still in the air, but if there is a concentration of Taycan owners, then EA will do something to help them.

    Here is their claim
The vehicle, which drove approximately 250 miles directly from Niagara Falls, utilized Electrify America’s 350 kW chargers to obtain a 5 percent to 80 percent charge in just 22.5 minutes.

Others may disagree, but VW is building out a network to take on the Tesla Supercharger network. Yes, it may not be built out to that extent yet, but VW is still ramping up volumes and the network reach will be much better when the Crozz hits the US market.

Across the globe, there are 1,229 Supercharger stations at present. These stations collectively have 9,623 Superchargers, each of which is capable of charging an electric vehicle in 30 minutes to around 80 percent capacity. Tesla now plans to increase the number by more than eight-fold. - https://www.investopedia.com/news/musk-10k-supercharger-stations-globally-2019/

So 1 down, 1,229 or 9,623 to go. Git'er done.

Scoop: Ford To Partner With Electrify America For Customer Access To EV Charging Network

    https://cleantechnica.com/2019/07/13/exclusive-ford-to-partner-with-electrify-america-for-customer-access-to-ev-charging-network/

On Friday (July 11) Electrify America (EA) announced a partnership with Harley-Davidson to provide future owners of the LiveWire electric motorcycle access to the EA network and various charging benefits. And while pure speculation at this juncture, the Harley-Davidson announcement likely provides a template and insight into what the Ford and Electrify America arrangement might look like. This may include:

    • Access to all of Electrify America’s network of fast-charging stations across the US.
    • Complimentary charging for Ford EV drivers for a specific time period (e.g., one year).
    • Electrify America charging locations are integrated with an updated MyFord Mobile app to find charging stations, track charging status and usage statistics, enable easy payment, etc.

Again, we can dismiss EA, but they are building a base of users and facilities.
