Основываясь на своих предыдущих постах, я думаю, что у Игоря есть серый рынок, который может быть импортирован в Украину, у него, вероятно, нулевая дилерская поддержка. [/ QUOTE]
Hello friends, my KONA was bought at Kopart. This is the car on which the tree fell and two women were driving. The local Hyundai dealer will not be able to repair the water pump, so I ask you to give more information for self-repair, I will be very grateful.

Just took my Kona EV in for 10k mile "maintenance" (tire rotation), and was told there was a recall. I was called a couple hours later and told that the electric water pump cover was cracked. I was told it was that way when I arrived, but this seems unlikely. Regardless, taking several days to get the part and repair.

Мені доведеться самостійно відремонтувати насоси системи охолодження, але я не можу знайти ущільнювачі, тому, будь ласка, дайте мені вибрати розміри. Буде простіше зробити пошук.

Follow up
I was at the dealer to get the latest software updates ref the bms and other systems. I had this paperwork and this time, the service manager was around. He looked into it and found the cdn version ref this water pump and is ordering the parts now.
My production date was dec 05 18,.

9. Should I ask the dealer to preorder the parts anticipating that the repair will be necessary? Given that an inspection is called for before the repair is deemed warranted how can I convince them to preorder? What percentage of inspections thus far have resulted in repairs? If it's a high percentage maybe that would be enough ammunition to convince them.

If the service manager is on top of stuff, it makes sense to order and have the parts on hand. When I called awhile back, the one service person was not helpful but I knew once I got in there and seen the service manager, he would be game for doing it. He did find the cdn version of this fix.
From what I read, ppl that got it done , needed it done once they looked around. I just figured if this needs to be performed I want it done while its in warranty and doesn't screw up other components.

11. It is curious that this is the second example of the recall applied to cars outside of the specified date range. The parts of course are just an O-ring for each pump unless damage is found, then it's the entire pump and connector.

13. Not sure I'm understanding. I thought it was certain VINs within a date range and that Dec. 2018 builds were within that range. Mine falls in there.

14. The boxes contained an o ring and an outer case as well, this is the stage 1 repair kit (x 2 )

15. It sounds the defect was in the case rather than the O-ring.

16. I had my dealer inspect the water pump yesterday. Mine is doing fine, so they will just replace the gasket as advised by the recall. He says that with the original gasket, coolant could leak and get into the electrical connection to it. That's why they recall and replace it.

Well, the parts should be there next week and they'll replace the seal gasket then.

17. Dropping the Kona of at the dealer tomorrow for a few hours for them to do the water pump recall.
I'm kind of glad there is nothing serious with the car. I'm 100% certain I'm the very first electric car service customer with them here in Vegas. Having them just do the water pump at least gets the car in front of them without taking major electric components apart.

They told me that they recently went for training on EVs, though.

[/ QUOTE]

It would be a shame to have to return for the second one.;)

21. I got the service campaign notice for the battery update but never got anything about this one. Should I assume that I don't need it? Should I alert my dealer about this campaign in any event? What has been others' experience with this issue? Did those who had the inspection or work done get a notice or did your dealer just take it upon themselves to do it without prompting? I'm about to take my car in for its first service and would like everything outstanding addressed in one fell swoop.

22. When I brought my car in for its first service, the dealership just automatically took care of it. But, your mileage may vary depending on how proactive your dealership is. At a minimum, you should suggest it to them when you bring your car in.

23. I had to show them the TSB paperwork supplied by Konan the Explorer here:
https://insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?threads/electric-water-pump-recall.7909/#post-88746
Then after ordering the parts to repair one pump, I additionally had to show them that Kona Electric has 2 (so another week of waiting for the second one).
I think sometimes Hyundai is a little lax on supplying the dealerships with up to date and properly detailed information on these recalls or upgrades.
In all fairness I was the first to have it done at my particular dealership, and I think now they actually stock the materials to effect the water pump repair (level 1- with no sign of leakage)- both kits include a new housing and o-ring, part# is referred to in the TSB itself)
