Now that my Clarity has about 5500 miles under its belt, I noticed as I was washing the car today that the front chrome strip takes quite a beating. The bumper looked just fine.

Has anyone done anything to protect the chrome? I would imagine it would look pretty bad after a while.

I have seen paint protection film pre-cut just for this part.

I just ordered the film yesterday for the front bumper and hood at invisiblemask.com

I had paint protection film (PPF) professionally installed on my car at a reputable local installer after watching numerous youtuYo videos touting the benefits. The installer said they don't put PPF on the chrome pieces because it will take off the chrome if for some reason you need to remove it. He also said the chrome can be damaged during ppf installation so they do not do it.
