Suddenly realized the reason BMW is history is because they only sell dumb cars. Even if they could get the hardware and sensors, which laughably they can't, they are stuck with something like DOS 1.0 in 2020. And they aren't going to be able to fix this because they can't get or retain smart people because people with even above average awareness/understanding will not dedicate their energies to working for dumb management with dumb goals. What are BMWs actual goals? Its so obvious. Its goals are to make more profit for dumb investors who are also invested in fossil fuels. That's a dumb company with dumb goals and a dumb future. Literally BMWs goal is to delay the transition to sustainable energy... for the sole benefit and comfort of Darwin award level dumb people who refused to get off the deck of the Titanic even after they could see the ship was half underwater.

Here is an example of the kind of things that screams out to such people to leave the company as fast as possible and have nothing to do with it. In the Tesla impact report data was presented that Tesla cars historically have been 1/20th as likely to catch fire as ICE cars. But quite apparently because BMW (but also Ford with its trucks and some cars) were facing injunctions around the globe for having parked unattended shut off cars spontaneously catch fire, because of that quality control issue for BMW we heard non-stop in the shill media that it was actually Tesla that was having problems with fires so paid lies were used to try to provide cover for BMWs issue. So instead of fixing the problem or trying to compete this was the kind of stuff BMW was relying on. This is because BMWs management is terminally stupid and this stupidity is part of the reason why BMW got its lunch ate by Tesla and why it cannot and will not be able to retain quality people to dig itself out of the hole its defining stupidity created. And its hurt the brand image too because now driving a dumb BMW screams unaware poser which is not the kind of image people will pay any kind of BMW level 'premium' for.

Another example: in 3 years time BMW will have pure BEV 3 Series- way, way too late, its game over. Probably why Diess left BMW because it was brain dead. For comparison VW's biggest plant just made its final ICE car, the last one after 116 years of ICE production! Now that is smart and congratulations to VW and Diess! Its beyond excellent. Only good thing we've heard BMW do in a long time was be on the right side of the CAFE battle, but that's it.

History won't be kind to BMW. Its epitaph will be something like: Maker of some of the best internal combustion engine cars up through the early 90s, died because of an inability to adapt to the end of fossil fuels despite many decades of warnings.

Imagine if BMW survived to 2032 we'd have self driving cars with self driving on ICE that would be like grafting a new PC processor into an old rotary dial land line utterly makes no sense. ICE (hybrid junk or not) cars with self driving makes as much sense as a steam engine powering a jumbo jet it is just not happening. Like having horse driven fire trucks in 2020.

it's interesting that BMW was fairly early in the EV game. The i3 is a great piece of engineering and innovation but then they stopped.. Not sure why..
