Are hydrogen tanks superior to batteries?

As California is the only state where one can own an FCV, (congratulations on building the 35th hydrogen filling station there this week by the way) one should perhaps multiply the number of FCV sales - currently about 250 a month - by ten in order to estimate their popularity in comparison with battery cars.

Roughly one in ten Americans live in California, so it is reasonable to suppose that were it to be possible for ALL Americans to have access to a hydrogen filling station that ten times this number of FCVs per month would be sold, i.e. 2,500 a month.

This is only one-eighth of the number of battery cars sold - and they can be sold right across the country - but they have only recently become available whereas battery cars have been pushed onto a reluctant public for seven or eight years now.

I think the writing is on the wall for battery cars already, despite the reluctance of many here to take the trouble to read it.
