Any info if there's a 2020 Clarity PHEV on the horizon?

All versions will be available in 2020 (FCEV, BEV, PHEV), but same availability as the latter part of 2019. Only parts of CA for the Fuel Cell, CA and OR (with waiting lists) for the BEV, special order (no inventory) outside of CA for the PHEV.

  5. The Mirai has been around for a few years. It is lease only in CA and includes $15,000 in fuel credit for 3 years, which is a good thing because it costs $5,000/yr to drive it 12,000 miles. About the same as one of those monster diesel pick up trucks.

Toyota will provide a loaner car if you need to take a trip outside CA or go where hydrogen isn’t available. The hydrogen is mostly made from fossil fuels too. Sound appealing so far?

Our friends have one. Because of the recent hydrogen shortage, Toyota gave them a loaner and will be making their next 6 monthly payments.
