With the Audi etron getting 204 mile range of 95-kWh, what are our expectations for the EQC with 70 kWh battery? At the launch MB seemed to be honest with their up to 200 mile range, but their marketing department quickly tried to change the narrative. What’s your estimate? My guess is 180 miles EPA.
Looks like the EQC range just got published. 277-293 miles NEDC ≈ 194-205 miles EPA. https://electrek.co/2019/04/17/mercedes-benz-unveils-special-edition-eqc-edition-1886-electric-suv/
Looks like Audi claimed 310 miles range under NEDC cycle, and ended up with an actual EPA range of 204 miles. https://electrek.co/2018/03/06/audi-e-tron-quattro-all-electric-prototype/ Got to laugh at Electrek estimating 275 miles EPA range. Just goes to show how far off NEDC is. Anyway if we apply the same ratio to the EQC, we're looking at 182 to 193 miles of real world/EPA range.
It's also worth pointing out that Audi quotes gross capacity and MB usually quotes net. So that 95kWh eTron battery is only just over 80kWh usable, AFAIK. Plus the eTron is a hog when it comes to consumption. Sure the EQC will be a bit worse, but not as much as the numbers would at first suggest.
