What a mess. I report the software update issue to Hyundai; essentially, Hyundai has the USA version of the update on the Canadian site. I sent them all the .tar files showing the issue. Do they bother to check? - no! This is supported by a 3rd party map company. Oh ... Bluelink has major problems today too. Since when does my app change from BlueLink to My Hyundai and fail to log me in?? They are asking me for all sorts of information and photographs yet none of this is going to solve their problem if they have the wrong software version being downloaded by the Navigation Updater. All of the .tar file names have USA in them and I get an incompatible for this vehicle message and highlights in red ECOHMC.USA_S5W software update. Edit: And, the disaster continues with the 3rd party company making things even worse by having me do a "reset>reset all" which wipes out all of my settings and profile, followed by the pin hole reset, followed by another USB software update which immediately failed with the exact same message as note in the previous paragraph. In other words, none of this helped. Their instructions are definitely different from any previous update I've done. I've lost all confidence in this update and will wait until the spring time ... I give up! Any other Canadian owners able to successfully update?? Steve
Sorry to hear about your mess. I downloaded on Oct 12th and it installed ok. Used a 64GB SanDisk. Used the Updater for Mac and it formatted/created the SanDisk install. I'm doing another download now just for kicks to see what files end up on the USB Stick. The updater prog shows that it is for "Standard-class Gen5W Navigation(Jong-e) for my MY22 Ultimate AwD. Filelist of USB Stick: hope it helps to confirm you downloaded correct package. 1157 17 Oct 12:55 2022_Ioniq_5_CAN.ver 1077 17 Oct 12:47 NEW_TarList.txt_encrypted 256 17 Oct 12:47 NEW_TarList.txt_encrypted.rsa 1354434560 17 Oct 12:10 extra_package_ECOHMC.USA.0000.V909.010.230616.183108.tar 1388718080 17 Oct 12:12 extra_pkg_ECOHMC.USA.1000.V011.004.231004.111802.tar 3970732032 17 Oct 12:22 navi_backup.tar1 3953935872 17 Oct 12:26 navi_backup.tar2 3966632960 17 Oct 12:31 navi_backup.tar3 3958926848 17 Oct 12:36 navi_backup.tar4 3970401280 17 Oct 12:41 navi_backup.tar5 3942963200 17 Oct 12:46 navi_backup.tar6 3946002944 17 Oct 12:51 navi_backup.tar7 3371412992 17 Oct 12:55 navi_backup.tar8 474460160 17 Oct 12:55 sw_backup.tar 2332395520 17 Oct 12:15 system_package_ECOHMC.USA.0000.V909.010.230616.183108.tar 2460907520 17 Oct 12:17 system_pkg_ECOHMC.USA.1000.V011.004.231004.111802.tar
Hi, thanks for the information. I'm using a PC and a 64GB Lexar USB. Never had any issues with previous updates using this USB. My file list does not have: 1077 17 Oct 12:47 NEW_TarList.txt_encrypted 256 17 Oct 12:47 NEW_TarList.txt_encrypted.rsa It's possible these are for MAC-only transfers. I have downloaded the files on 5 separate occasions - unlikely the same file would be corrupted five times during the download process yet the vehicle keeps stating the USA file is incompatible - the same file you have. Cheers, Steve
The previous updates, that worked, where they downloaded with same version of Windows? I have to go back a version of OS occasionally. Just a thought.
Hi, the versions that worked were using Windows 10. Now my laptop and PC use Windows 11. I still have my "old" PC and may give that a try tomorrow and see what happens.
Used my "old" PC with the exact same result. Game over ... I won't look at this again this year, other priorities.
I went on Reddit and see I'm not the only Canadian owner with the exact same issue. Changing from Windows 11 back to 10 helped no one. Changing USB cards helped no one. All with the issue are using the Navigation Updater on the Canadian website. All of us have the exact same issue with a USA file being incompatible. No solution to date and not holding my breath that Hyundai will come up with a fix. I bet this is an issue with the mapping company.
