Just charged my Polestar 2 to 90%. Dash shows 220 mile range but Google screen shows 190 range. Which is more realistic?
From the polestar 2 drivers I have heard from on other forums Google is fairly accurate, and the dash numbers are to be ignored as next to useless.
thanks for the feedback. Hopefully they will both be in sync at some point. Software update ♂️♂️♂️
New info from Edmunds. Something to be said for the heat pump. https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/tested-2022-polestar-2-redeems-itself-beats-epa-estimated-range.html Don’t know how they managed speed throughout the test drive. I’ve a reservation for the ‘23 dual-motor w/Pilot; will not get the heat pump, though. I look at this car like my old 2001 Boxster S (faster, too). Starting to get real interested! Planning to do some mods to the center console (only design weakness).
Had my ‘23 P2 LRDM w/Pilot for 5 weeks now and consistently getting a total range estimate of 260 miles on both instrument dash and Google. The ‘23 AWD have an 11 mile range increase over ‘22.
I drive the 2022 Polestar 2 and the car realistically gets around 250 miles on a full charge in warm weather (~65-100F) and around 200 miles in cold weather (35-45F). This is based on driving 75-80 mph on California freeways. I think the range decrease can be explained by a few things: - In cold weather, battery is less efficient - Cold weather has more wind resistance - Have to run the defroster/heater at times when it's cold out. Overall, the range hit still leaves me with a very reasonable range, so I'm quite content with the car.
