The iPhone app also updated this morning. Also no eDrive or charge history. What's interesting is that right after I downloaded the update from the Apple App Store, I noticed there was no horn honk feature. It seems after it "checks-in" with MINI's servers it later activates that feature and now the horn icon appears. The trigger seems to be attempting to communicate with their servers; I did it by unlocking and re-locking the doors remotely.
Charging settings have moved, the box next to the Vehicle Finder is now "Remote History" with Charging right below the two boxes.
My iPhone app updated. New settings on the "charge and climate settings" page. There are three weekly schedule slots where you can select days of the week with a departure time.
I think it always tracked you, you just didn't know it. The new iOS forces app makers to remind you and give you an opportunity to opt out.
Since changing the setting so I can see which apps ask for tracking, I've run the old app and it doesn't ask. I tried every section, so I'm fairly certain it isn't tracking like the new app does.
As of about 7pm CDT my original MINI Connected app no longer works, so I'm guessing it's been terminated. It's no longer in the (Apple) App Store. So long, eDRIVE data...
My old Android version of the app still works. I keep waiting for your experience to happen to me, but not yet.
I'm going to miss the eDrive data. But on the other hand, the app for my stupid other EV (cough...VAG...cough...) almost never works. And definitely never works when you need to pre-condition. The Mini app has actually never failed me once.
Mine is still working today - on android I forgot to keep writing in about the edrive on the other app. This seriously has me mad.
I regret not having the foresight to sniff the network to see if I could reverse-engineer the protocol for retrieving eDRIVE data. Figure that out and someone could write their own app.
unless they yanked the calls from the API (which if the antiquated android apps still work would not be the case)
That's basically what TRONITY does (and then provide their own value-add features). Short discussion on the Tronity app thread.
Anyone try to use the old Mini app? Curious what you find. It will not send remote requests (climate, lock, horn etc) on mine but still can access the eDrive for now.
I just locked my SE using my Android phone with the old app. It's the first time I ever tried doing that. Will hang on to old app until it croaks.
Did nothing load? Just curious. I got the warning once about using the other. I really hope they don't kill it without giving us edrive info Cool! I admit I did it via shaky wifi (not my place from a tablet with no LTE or 5G) so that might have been it.
Hmmm...in my memory nothing would load. But maybe I did not go past the message. Maybe another IOS user can confirm.
After updating the new app today, I now have charging history! It doesn't show anything yet because I haven't charged since the update but at least they're adding some features. I never had a chance to try the old app so I don't know what I'm missing in the eDrive info
