If anyone took out a loan from their BMW dealer, we received our first billing statement. They have a full 2-page "here is how we sell your personal information to the world" disclosure. While you cannot opt out of most of it, you can opt out of two things: "For our affiliates to market to you" "For nonaffiliates to market to you" Go to the link below and enter your basic info to select the opt-out. Or google "opt out bmw financial services" to find the same link without clicking the link I (a stranger) am providing! https://www.fsgroupprivacy.com/GLBARights.com
glad I didn't finance. ugh. but I am glad GDPR and CCPA are forcing these types of disclosures to consumers.
I've financed a few MINIs through BMW Financial Services (best rate), and I haven't had a problem with unwanted solicitations, so it seems BMW is pretty restrained with personal information.
I got a killer rate from BMW Financial Services - well below inflation - so it would have been foolish to decline. Targeted marketing is annoying, but it is so prevalent that I'm not sure opting out would make much difference.
