i got offer 2020 model vs 2021 model with only 3K differences. but the Financing is 3.5% for 2020 model vs 0.9 for 2021 Model. after the interest rate, the differences is less than $1,500. decision...decision...
Based on my experience money now worth more than money 3 years down the road, so as long as the battery is maintained well I would go for a 2020 at that price.
Just got a quote for $29.6k OTD for a 2021 Base in Roseville CA (NorCal) Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Pay me for my 2020 Base you mean? Got a quote for $22.5k Net net $400 in the green and I get to trade up one model year Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
In Massachusetts, this is the best offer from a dealer I've gotten so far on a 2021 Touring: Selling Price $30,995 Doc Fee $398 MA Tax $1,962.06 New Plates $170 OUT THE DOOR $33,525.06 That's before $1500 MOR-EV rebate and fed tax credit. Best quote on a 2020 Touring was $28,995, but those are very hard to come by around here.
Hi, I received similar quote in So Cal. $29,720. make sure that price doesn't include the CA Fuel reward $1,500.
How does the $1,500 work? Shouldn’t it be included in the OTD price because it’s taken off at the dealer? Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
the 2 dealerships i got quote from separated the OTD price from the CA fuel reward. so with the OTD $29,720 if I pay cash or finance it with $0 down it will be $28,220. check with your dealer.
In Massachusetts, MOR-EV is the state rebate for consumers of new EV vehicles. One has to apply, submit documentation, then receives a $1500 check in the mail a few weeks later.
we in CA are so "lucky" there are multiple state rebate. Don't ask me where that money coming from the new CA Clean Fuel reward is deducted directly during the the transaction - but dealer need to participate. - California Clean Fuel Reward | EV Rebates and Incentives there is no income limitation there is another one that buyer/lessor need to apply within 3 months , there are some limit on the income. the rebate varies can be up to 5,000 if not mistaken. in the past 5 years I have apply for 2 times with $2,000 rebate each. - About CVRP | Clean Vehicle Rebate Project
A big instant discount would certainly help sell cars; why don't all dealers participate? Too much paperwork? Politics?
what I heard from the dealership that did not participate, they said the money is deducted from their sale price, and they need to claim back to the State / paying agency, and it will take 8-9 months or more to get the money back. for some dealership that only sell minimal Honda Clarity it did not worth the effort. it's basically force the dealership to subsidized the Green car /EV policy. who knows if they will get their money back or not - especially 8-9 months down the road if CA have budget deficit they might issue IOU like few years back.
CA Clean Fuel is also a pretty new program (<6 months old afaik), so it may take more time for more dealers to become aware and support it. E.g. the dealership where I got my Clarity (in January) didn't know about it, even though it was actually listed on the cleanfuelreward.com website as a participant. They kept trying to talk me out of it and saying the program expired last year etc.; I ended up calling the support number listed on the website, and then passing the phone to the dealer so they could explain how it worked. (They did honor the rebate in the end.)
I paid about $100 less (in CT two months ago) so you're in the ballpark. Connecticut has a rebate program but you're allowed to use it once, which I did for my lease three years ago on a 2018 Clarity. I felt it was a fair price--and I'm driving it now (rather than waiting weeks or months more for a price drop. Go ahead and take the plunge--and the 0.9% financing offered by Honda is quite good was well.
Not sure if demand or shipping problem. My So cal dealers (so OC) don't appear to have phev Clarities. Was giing to upgrade from 19 to 21.
In Sacramento area, there are only ONE base now priced at 29.95k. Given the current situation, I guess it would be hard to find a good deal in near future. What do you think?
Who knows what the future will bring? It could be bigger discounts or no cars at all. A ~$5K discount is decent. Combined with other incentives, it makes for a very affordable vehicle.
