  1. Today I was idling with the FM radio on and got some very bad interference which went away upon driving away. I had previously noted oscillating hash on the AM band while going from idle and diminishing to nothing when reaching speed. Having never noticed this before I'm wondering if something with the electrical system has changed causing the interference. Any ideas?

Could it be something as simple as you were driving away from a local source of interference?

  4. My first thought, as one time I was parked beneath some big transmission towers. But the interference ramped down in direct correlation to my accelerator input while still under the wires. Also, the interference occurred in 3 different locations.

If it's only on one station, something else that could have changed is the station's signal has got weaker for some reason, so more prone to interference that was there all the time.
May also be an issue with the car's antenna - maybe water ingress
