  1. Why do you suppose we can't put a ceiling on the DC charging rate? While the general goal for DC charging is "fast as possible" there may well be some who also want to shelter their battery some while going faster AC permits.

In theory Hyundai could tweak the software so that we could specify a maximum DC charge rate. Or EA could tweak their stations so that one could select a max charge rate. I haven't seen any sign that either one is highly motivated to make such a change.

I dropped a detailed "submission" into EA's website, pointing out among other
things that the theoretical max charge rate is reported by the car because
that's exactly what it's supposed to do, per the ISO15118 spec. What it WILL
actively accept right now is a different number. It's not the car's fault, it's EA
looking at the wrong number and that's at a MINIMUM what they need to fix
in their chargers. And move to kWh-based billing, obvoiusly, which would
render the time problem moot but introduce different ways they can gouge
    via markup.

EA is selling a lot of Teslas. That should be "motivation" enough.

I sent an email to the Texas department of weights and measures inside the department of agriculture. I ask if the was any or any plans for regulation regarding electric car charging infrastructure.

Just saw a post on FB suggesting that everyone "Like" the EA FB page, and then make respectful comments/queries regarding the charging for Kia and Hyundai EVs.

I did both already, and look forward to making contributions.

I'm a Kona Electric owner and if the pricing games are not going to end any time soon, my next EV will be a Tesla... probably a Cybertruck.. It's also a great vehicle for road trips as it easily fits the entire family and luggage for road trips.. With a Tesla, no worries about being at the mercy of charging providers like EA..
