  3. Are you referring to the InsideEVs website newsletter or the InsideEVs Forum one? (The Forum one is supposed to be once a month, hopefully out Monday.)

I am posting to find out if there is a reason why content would be missing or pixellated. My problem occurs when using Tapatalk on a mobile. Pictures display as thumbnails or are pixellated.
Normally I use a PC and do sign in. However with Tapatalk I do not sign in as I prefer to keep my logins confidential. Entering many unique logins into a third party site (Tapatalk) is not considered safe browsing.

  5. I haven't tried to use Tapatalk while not logged in, but I suppose that could be what's affecting your experience. You can also just log into the site on mobile with a regular browser instead of using the app. It works pretty well that way too.

I'm not sure if this was intentional, but InsideEvs on the apple news app has had old articles on it for 17 weeks. It doesn't seem to be updating. Thanks for reading.

  8. It is intentional, apparently. We don't get any credit for clicks via Apple News, so it's a waste of our energy to deal with.

It looks like the advertising popups can capture the keyboard inputs. I see it most often when editing an earlier post.

You can easily click back in t<LOST INPUT>he window but it sure is awkward. I also notice <LOST INPUT> the popup has a new provide<LOST INPUT>r, 'Ads By GumGum'.

So I just enabled all "Ad Blocker" extensions in Safari and added this p<LOST INPUT>ost. So whatever this popup is doing bypas<LOST INPUT>ses the Safari "Ad Blocker."

So I switched to Firefox to see if it is browser specific. To test, I need to type in at least as much as I've already type in the previous paragraphs. Good news, Firefox did not have a keyboard capture event. Sure sounds like an anti-Apple 'feature.' Now to have some fun.

So let's see if we can overflow a buff<LOST INPUT HELD KEY> no effect. Now for p<LOST INPUT>hase two.

I'm trying different /etc/hosts entr<LOST INPUT>ies. For the next trick, we'll block "gum.criteo.com". So far, so good! If this kills the keyboard hijacking, problem solved. I still see the po<LOST INPUT>p-ups. Now for the 3d test. It does appear the keyboard hijack occurs whe<LOST INPUT>n the popup shows up. Now the forth domain is blocked. <LOST INPUT>Sure enough the popup is concurrent with the lost keyboard.

Now testing "Disable Javascript" which changes the edit window and background screen. No popups, no problem with keyboard hijacking. It looks like we're narrowing in on the problem area. This suggests I need to audit a failing (or hostile) Java Script.

I've backed out the last /etc/hosts entry since it had no effect. But I continue to disable various Safari browser options. So far, I still see popups but not the keyboard hijacking one and its effect. This is good news!

Just sharing including my debug session. This last debug test appears to make Safari working with InsideEvs without the keyboard hijacking. There may be other problems at other web sites but for now InSideEVs is working.

  10. I am somehow unable to find a "mark forum as read" function? Is there one hidden somewhere?

  11. It's in the "hamburger" menu.

  13. Thanks so much for this forum! It's been a big help to me in researching and buying my latest EV.

Suggestion: Could a poster's location be displayed on their posts along with the avatar and level? It would provide useful context for a lot of posts. This is the thread that prompted the request, but it'd be helpful on many topics. Members wanting privacy could opt not to provide a location in their profile.

  14. Oh, that's a great suggestion. I don't know if we can do it, but I will certainly ask.

I’d like year, make and model of primary ride(s) so I’d have clue to their experience.

  16. Done!

  17. That would be nice too. For now, they want to keep that for subscriber's signatures. (Also, great signature you have there!)

  18. That hamburger menu doesn't exist in the web-browser on a desktop, does it? I can't find it!

  19. On desktop, if you mouse over "Forum," just to the right on "InsideEvs" at the top left of the screen, an arrow will appear. and when you click that arrow, a menu will drop down with the "Mark Forums Read" option. Just click there.

I was using Edge and decided to switch to Chrome. The ads behave much better in Chrome, no popping in and out.

I see no way to edit the title of my thread to add the word SOLVED to the title.

Side note - this should be a sub-forum for user questions, not just a thread.

  23. I'm always happy to adjust thread titles. Feel free to start a converstion with me to point me to the thread title you'd like changed.
