I just updated the Android version of the HondaLink app. I'm not at all bothered by the loss of the infamous EV Charge percentage, but I am concerned with the persistent Notification that HondaLink is Connecting, with the only option being to Dismiss it. The data shows after I Select Dismiss, but after I exit the app, the Notification continues. Even if I select the Notification to be minimized, it still persists. That looks like a possible battery drain issue. I just noticed that in Settings/Apps & Notifications/App Info for the HondaLink App showed a double Notification selection - both shown active. I turned off the second one, and I'm not seeing the persistent notification. Not sure what other effect that may have.
Just updated on iOS.Only downside is that I had to log in again and it didn't like my password (which worked fine on the web site (!)). So, I reset it to what it was and all was well. HondaLink on the web is here: https://hondalink.honda.com/#/
As much as I'm annoyed by the lack of a battery charge % level, I would've been ok with it if the new app update would have corrected issues I previously had. Now on top of the old issues, I have new issues. The clarity is seriously an afterthought to Honda. Something as simple as when I open the app, it shows me a picture of a Honda van instead of the vehicle I drive, absolutely lame. Clearly, Honda uses bottom of the barrel app developers.
Yeah, I hate apps that make you sign in every time they update. For folks with automatic update, they can find themselves frozen out just when they want to call Honda Assistance. Never mind which vehicle appears on the splash screen, why do we need a splash screen at all. We know it's HondaLink, we just clicked on the icon. Duh.
I like seeing the % SOC, so I’ll not be updating. For those who have, how many bars do you get in the graphic display in lieu of the %?
I can now see where the car is at all times, except when it’s moving. I couldn’t see it before the update. It always gave me the location of my phone.
I never had that problem with "Find my Car". I'm using Android. It always gave me the actual location of the car, but the "Location" feature, which seems to be gone now, didn't work reliably.
Here’s a bug they didn’t fix. Battery level shows blank if I don’t plug the car in. Doesn’t happen all the time - but happens pretty often.
Haven't seen that one yet, in over a year. Maybe it varies from one vehicle or cellular signal strength to another.
I updated the app. After logging in, it refuses to do anything or tell me anything about the Clarity. It has a page for my CRV (with no information), and when I go to the Account Setting page it has a "Manage Subscriptions" entry for the Clarity, which says it is active, but all of the Clarity-related functions are no longer accessible. This is the IOS version.
Top center of app it shows the current vehicle selected. Click on it and you will see other Honda link vehicles. Select which one you want to control. Not very intuitive, I did not know how to change vehicles at first either.
Me too, in case one accidentally update. Old versions are here https://m.apkpure.com/hondalink/com.honda.hondalink.connect/versions
Thanks for the heads up not to update. Several months ago when they took away the time estimate for charging, I didn’t update until they made me do so by locking the app. I suspect that will be the case again after a while.
