Not sure if there was a poll like this, but it would be interesting to see what type of vehicle people were driving before the Clarity. Did it bring over people from hybrids or ICE only, etc... You can select up to two options, if you had two vehicles that were typically driven.
We had a 2008 Prius, then a 2015 Prius. I wouldn't want to go backwards to a hybrid again. We've moved on.
Went from a 2006 Prius hybrid to 20012 Prius Plugin. I've moved on to a bigger battery (and a bigger car ).
2000 VW Passat wagon V-6 3.0. It really was a great car and we'd pretty much planned keeping it till death did us part. I'd always wanted something hybrid but the Prius was just so aesthetically unappealing. I'm so glad I waited for the Clarity, I'm totally in love with this car.
I had a used 1990 Ford fiessta then a brandnew 2004 kia spectra. Now the 2018 Honda clarity...talk a bout posh. Some times I sing movin on up to the top. Edd
2002 Prius, then a 2006 Prius (totaled it!), then a 2008 Prius and finally a 2011 Prius before the Clarity.
2001 Subaru Forester. Great car, but with HOV, free charging at work, and the Subaru needing more and more work, it was time. I wanted a PHEV, preferably one that could get me to work and back, so the Volt or Clarity.
2005 Kia Amanti, wife had 2005 Prius I like the hybrid idea just not the Prius so in 2016 I bought a 2012 Lincoln MKZ hybrid. I bought the Clairity to take advantage of rebates before they disappear. Love the car almost as much as Lincoln.
Went from a 2004 Dodge Neon (or more properly SX 2.0) to a 2014 Mazda2 to my 2019 Honda Clarity. I expect my next car to be fully electric. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid. Sold it with 140k on the odometer. Drove our 2008 Avalanche as an every day car for a year. That got old quick. Monthly gas budget dropped from $300+ to almost nothing. Love this car. Can’t wait for a BEV truck (that I can afford) to make it to market.
2012 Honda Civic CNG -- Got it for the carpool stickers in CA. On the CNG forums, we had guessed that the state would extend the white sticker program past 2019 for CNG/EV cars and get rid of the green sticker access in 2019, but we were wrong. While I got the car for carpool lane access, the environmental benefits were also attractive: the tailpipe emissions of the CNG Civic are 7x less than that of the gasoline Civic of the same year, plus all CNG is domestically produced which helps ensure the US's energy independence for the future. CNG is also super cheap -- way less than the Clarity's break-even price of $3/gallon equivalent of EV or of the local gasoline prices. I'm a little bummed out that Honda decided to ditch the CNG project. It sure is nice being to fill up the Clarity anywhere though, it was a little disappointing that the Civic wouldn't be able to make it to another state other than Nevada.
2017 Honda Civic Si. Got tired of shifting in stop and go traffic. Sent from my SM-N960U using Inside EVs mobile app
I was leasing a 2015 Acura TLX. Saw the Clarity at the St. Louis car show in Feb 2018 and purchase the Clarity in Sept. Have 7300 miles on car now with the only issues being the mileage range upgrade and the 18-097 upgrade. I also own a 2010 F150 and my wife drives a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The truck doesn't see much activity these days.
