  1. Domenick,
I completed my preorder the morning after I returned from the LA Auto Show. We bought a Bolt last year & have been very happy with the car. I've been telling everyone I want an electric Pickup! I currently own & use a 2004 Dodge Ram w/Cummins diesel. The truck has served us very well. After seeing the R1T & talking with many of the Rivian engineers at the show I am even more excited about it! The only thing I do not like is the lack of fast charging stations so the R1T can be used like I have used the Ram. I will follow every development with anticipation.

  3. There should be a number of fast charge stations in the Electrify America network by the time Rivian deliveries begin. They (EA) have a pretty aggressive buildout schedule.

Congrats! Out of curiosity, what are you planning for as far as daily usage for your R1T? Are you trying to do road trips(250+ miles) or just around town, occasional hauling, etc? What type, if any, home charging setup do you have?

I only ask because the fast charging is nice, but it’s not for everyone - whether it be convenience, price per charge, etc.

Put my preorder in last week and following any news I can get. I will now be obsessed for 24 months waiting for these things to roll off the assembly line!

  6. Well, welcome to the Forum, and congrats on the order.

For those of you that placed a preorder already has any one recieved a confirmation number

  9. New to forum:

I pre-ordered the R1S minutes after it was aviliable to order. I did receive a confirmation email but no number. I printed out my credit card charge as “proof” because you never know if info can get lost/misplaced in 2 years.

I just placed my preorder. Hopefully these will meet the production line as expected and be what they are advertised as. I know I will be awaiting delivery day for sure.

Welcome to the forum! I don’t think anyone has received a number per se, only a confirmation email. If you haven’t already signed up to follow the multiple Rivian social media accounts, I would suggest you do so. That seems to be their main source of releasing information so far.

By the way- what’s your EV experience? Current owner? Feel free to ask any questions as we all try to learn more about this amazing machine.

  13. Not a current EV owner, but became interested a few years ago following Tesla. Now i’m interested to see if another new start-up can rivial them. The prospect of a new company from the Detroit area building a durable electric adventure vehicle is exciting. It would be more exciting if they built them in Detroit.

It really would be nice to know my number in line, how early an adopter I am, you know, bragging rights. And yes, I know its juvenile and all, but still want to know.

I preordered on Nov 26. Currently drive an 2017 A3 plugin e-tron, and a 2004 Toyota Tacoma for house projects. Hoping to get down to one vehicle. However, 2 years is a long wait.. plus, these things always run longer than expected.. so 2 years could become 3. My lease on the e-tron is up in December 2019.. so, hoping there's a nice regular stream of info from them between now and then; otherwise might be tempted to flip over into something else.

Placed my preorder yesterday. Now just save as much as I can so the monthly payment is as low as I can get it

I just registered to add one reservation each for R1T and S, both placed Jan 10. We'll be keeping close tabs on Model Y's progress and final form but so far have doubts it'll be large enough vs. the R1S.

I reserved a place as well. I truly believe it is a game changer but they will get acquired by someone with a distribution network.

I reserved a R1S several weeks ago to replace a QX56. I love my Tesla P85+, but the Model X is too small and the falcon doors too gimmicky and impractical. The Rivian is just what I’m looking for... if warranty and service infrastructure is adequate.

Placed a pre-order for the truck after seeing it at the LA Auto Show. Very excited about it.

Zac from Youtube channel Now You Know has a Rivian reservation.

He plans on doing as extensive Rivian videos as Tesla videos.

    Should be exciting to watch.

We reserved an R1S on 28 November 2018. We waited nearly two years for our Model S so the wait is not intolerable. We decided never to buy an ICE again and now must spend money maintaining a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer until the R1S arrives. We also joined the wait list for a Bollinger B1 when they fist announced, however I am not convinced they will every produce beyond hand fabricated units.

  23. Thanks for chiming in. As much as I love Bollinger, I've seen too many EV startups go bust to get my hopes up too high.
Even Rivian worries me (I think they need a lot more capital investment), but at least they have a solid product and a factory.
