Congrats just got ours earlier this week. Re the battery the dealer is supposed to charge it as part of their pre-delivery checklist. (I’ll have to look through the stack of paperwork.)

Your dealer sucks. Was the gas tank empty, too?

Looked at all the offerings, and will be getting the OEM mats and the center console mat. Through Costco, I get a 50% off coupon so mats should come to under $80 for both.

I just got in some WeatherTech mats in today, thanks to this group. I'm really happy with them!

I like touches of luxury so I'm probably going to get the ambient footwell lights and the lighted clarity door sills.

One thing I regret not doing on the last honda we purchased (honda pilot) was a Paint Protection Film for the Hood / Headlights / Mirrors / Trunk ledge over bumper
Have a number of dings that ate into the paint from rocks hitting the front part of the hood and the Mirrors
Have scratches on the trunk ledge

I just installed 3m paint protection film on these areas on the clarity - did it myself, but I had experience in the past doing this.
It is doable if you are patient and follow youtube intructions
Otherwise, it is quite expensive to have a pro do it

Also, Door cup film is nice too - prevents inevitable scratches in the door handle cup area

  10. Follow up, I just got a 50% off coupon from Costco for Honda accessories. For half price ($80), I’m picking up the Honda rubber floor mats.

I'm getting a hint as to why your dealer "forgot" to charge your battery.

  13. Hahaha, that’s the truth. Thank you for the incredible compliment. If anybody else out there needs help getting a good deal on a new car, I will rent you my wife for $200 an hour. She Will get you the deal of a lifetime on a new car. Dealers beware.

Digital tire pressure gauge... You want to make sure those tires are set to 36psi at delivery and not 50...

I didn't pay for any options. The black Clarity I got already had Window Tints and 3M films applied. I would probably have had the windows tinted, either through dealer or 3rd party. Probably wouldn't have done the 3M film.

I would be curious if anyone has had the Chrome lower door accent installed. I think it would compliment the Chrome on the front of the car, but would like to hear any first hand experiences and possibly pictures.

Is this an American thing only?

  18. I'm pretty sure you can find a pro shop do it cheaper than the dealer would charge you (I had that done on my Miata before). The dealers don't do it themselves anyway, they just get a pro to do it and charge you more than they paid for.

Try https://www.lloydmatsstore.com/mat-comparison for an after-market full coverage trunk mat. I am not certain, but I think they laser cut these to fit whatever car you want. The only disadvantage I can see is that (unlike Weathertech, which doesn't offer a Clarity trunk mat yet) these mats don't seem to have a "lip" around the circumference of the mat to contain spills, etc.

  20. I don't even understand why need laser cut if it's not going to have "lip".
I mentioned early I just bought a universal trunk mat and cut it with scissors, edge to edge fit, probably because of my eyes are as good as laser LOL. And the trunk mat has a little raised wall, so unless the spill is big or near the edge, it will still be contained and spills less likely to happen in trunk.

I'm still debating if I should go for the Tuxmat for the seat area.

I've got to say I really like the Tuxmats, didn't expect much but they fit, cover and look really nice.

  22. So in the end, I got a 50% off coupon from costco that I got to use on accessories I bought at the parts desk at my dealership. Here is what I bought and my first impressions.

    1. All weather rubber mats. (retail for $160, I paid $80). Nice mats, I like that they have "clarity" written on them. for $80 they are great mats. If I was paying full price, I would have saved up a few extra dollars and bought the Tuxmats.

    2. Center console rubber mat (retail for $25, I paid $12.50) Honestly a waste of money. I was hoping it would be a little more "grippy" than the regular surface of the storage area under the center console. I was hoping it would help keep things from shifting around down there. This mat wasnt much of a upgrade. the only thing its good for is if you had a spill, or a mess, you can take the mat I bought out of the car and hose it down.

    3. Honda First Aid Kit. (retail for $30, I paid $15) I was going to buy a first aid kit for the car anyway, and at $15, this one was worth it. Its got the Honda logo, and fits in with the look of the car. My only question is how to mount it. Its got velcro on the back of the box. The walls of the trunk look to be a felt type material, and Im not sure how well the adhesive strip on the backside of the velcro is going to attach to it.

Those are great prices. May I suggest placing it in the well under the trunk protector along with your charger. I did and it gives me more room and an uncluttered trunk.
