Tesla crashed into a police car. Driver reportedly says Autopilot in use. https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/tesla-autopilot-mode-hits-snohomish-county-deputys-suv/QIG4TLZWVVDXFDN2XTRZCMZ7D4/
Humans lack the ability to properly pay attention for long periods of time and take over in the event of an emergency. The NTSB will someday acknowledge this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Come back with the accident rates per mile and we’ll learn something. Compared to manual-only drivers, AutoPilot is great. The only reason we read about them are like “man bites dog” stories … they are so rare and novel. I drive in AutoPilot as much as possible because it is safer and more efficient. Bob Wilson
People get distracted all the time and get into wrecks. Plus, they tend to drive when tired, talk on the cell phone, drive under the influence, etc. So if anything, Autopilot should help overall. Tesla says it does. What I find interesting, it that Autopilot is still having this issue. I was hoping to see some improvement in Autopilot coming from their FSD testing. Maybe there will be some good news for Autopilot this year with the next update to Tesla's FSD system.
Well they must be doing something right. The Model 3 alone out sold all the other BEVs in Washington state last month.
