Nikola World is a big event the company has scheduled for this June 29. It has two things it plans to show off: 1) an advanced battery said to be capable of 500 Wh/kg - a huge improvement over current tech ~280 Wh/kg. 2) A completely functional Nikola Badger (pictured below), the brand's pickup truck. This thread is for attendees and fans to discuss the event and share their thoughts (and pics!) afterward.
Among the things happening at Nikola World 2020 is the giveaway of a $60,000 Nikola Badger. The catch? You have to have a $5,000 reservation first. Judging by the value given, this is an all-electric version of the pickup.
I think the best chance NKLA has is if someone buys them out, like Hyundai or Toyota, or maybe even FCA. Just can't see them trying to outsource all manufacturing, and make a profit. OR they could take a page from TSLA's story, and cash in on some of that inflated market cap, and build some of their own manufacturing, at least the high tech components. Assembly, which requires large capital construction, could still be done outside. That's the only way I could see them make it.
They postponed Nikola World 2020. They've been silent on the battery front. I believe it falls into the category of "If it sounds too good to be true.."
