My dealer felt like 12 weeks was a stretch when I ordered, but said transport was an issue. This week is number 9, and it’s been sitting at the port in Southhampton since the 15th waiting to get on a vessel. I think it’s about 18-20 days to Galveston, so I’m pretty sure they are going to miss that initial 12 week window. We’ll see what happens!
I just checked and it says in transit this morning. I’ll call and get the vessel info and ETA. That’s exciting!
Mine is riding the Olympian highway. How did y’all say I could track the vessel on satellite? I need a trial of something, but I didn’t see mention of that on vessel finder. Mine left yesterday, but they didn’t have any information on it until today. Mygarage shows in transit today, the automated system when I called said it was still in port. The rep looked up and gave me the vessel name.
Here is your ship https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:5169482/mmsi:431651000/imo:9757993/vessel:OLYMPIAN_HIGHWAY
Yes, I have not heard anything 25 days since ordering???? And I wonder who updates my line on spreadsheet to show "assigned port of entry" as Oxnad CA? Just checked and this is the second time it showed that. I deleted that. I would assume only each of us are responsible for updating our own info.
That was me, I had my nephew from Colorado ask Loveland what their port is, and it is Oxnard CA. My bad. They quoted him 150 days as well. Ouch.
@TripleD Ask Loveland's sales manager, not the salesman, for your Vehicle Inquiry Report. Pick a day where your salesman is not on duty. The nearest dealer that uses Baltimore I believe is Wichita but I wonder if you lose the Colorado $2500 vehicle tax credit and your $500 deposit going out of state? In Illinois, I started with Naperville and Glencoe and got the best promised delivery dates, then got a great first offer from Schaumburg which Orland Park immediately matched. Schaumburg, without asking, bettered the deal by throwing in the $500 alarm which helped greatly in lowering my Chicago based insurance. This was all over 40 hours on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday. I always seek 'out the door Chicago delivery new plates cash no trade' pricing so as not to be surprised by dealer add-ons at delivery.
Bad news... MINI will pause Oxford production line due to computer chip shortage Supposedly only three days, but the shortage is really bad. Hoping for everyone waiting on a new car it won't be longer.
Congrats Hutch! My out the door estimate was Monday, May 10, then Friday, May 7, now Thursday, May 13... so those three days off cost me six.
@Hutch When did you get to the port and do you know what your destination port is? I don't see you on the shared Google Sheet. I've been at the port for over two weeks now.
Well, finally got a production number and Vin. Real surprised after 26 days. And now ready for production, but plant shut down. The saga goes on. We did toast with a drink to celebrate being able to track the info. Was all set to cancel Loveland order and order from Chicago and hire a transport service to ship it out to Denver. Would have saved money and trip thru the Panama canal.
I wonder if Motorwerks MINI in Minneapolis or Baron MINI in Kansas City might be options for that, closer to Denver than Chicago. Motorwerks is my dealer, they're very nice. And I had to have emergency repairs at Baron MINI, they were also very nice.
If you contacted an aggressive Chicago dealer and they pinged the ordering system, I guarantee you that inquiry got Loveland off their arse for fear of losing the deal. Please call 1 866 275-6464 with your production number or last 7 of your VIN to obtain and share your estimated completion date. (It is a computer, so it should work 24/7.)
Well, I did send requests to all 4 Chicago dealers, but my salesman said they had received the update last Monday the 26th. Computer said completion May 6th. Not going to happen with shut down.
Hutch, did you get a ship name? Mine is on the RCC Classic and went “In Transit” at the same time as yours. The ship is currently on a port call in Bremerhaven, Germany. ETA to BALPOA on 16 May 21.
Baron MINI is my local dealership, and they have 3 (!) in stock: a Chili Red 2021 Iconic trim (listed as a Signature trim for some reason) an Enigmatic Black 2022 Iconic trim (listed as a 2021 Midnight Black for some reason) a 2022 Electric Collection (fresh off the truck, not yet listed).
It was about 2 weeks, don't know the destination port but my dealership is in Grand Rapids so I would think we would be on different boats.
