So you are the one who left the review? I wonder if this happens more often or you just had bad luck..
that’s great. it’s easy to find some cheap/free old Android phone, so this is not a deal breaker. On a side note, the other solution you mention, does it give exactly the same info on battery (like individual cells etc) or just the main ah number?
It does not provide as much as the AP200, but it does give quite a lot of things including battery capacity, individual cells, etc, If you still have your AP200, I recommend obtaining the Beta code. If not, I think the alternative will be quite good.
Great my only concern with the AP is if they decide to pull out the beta code at some point. is there a way to prevent firmware updates - e.g. never connect to the Internet? Can you work offline once you activate it for the Honda or it must be connected to check license etc?
Licensing is checked when you invoke the App, so it must have on-line access. I can't guarantee anything. If they have decided to not do an official update, then It seems the beta would remain. If they change their mind and do a formal update then that update would presumable include the beta. If you want to participate, send me a PM with your serial number.
An update on the Beta authorizations... I received requests from 17 members (one other member had previously made a request on his own). I just sent the list of serial numbers on behalf of these forum members: @lincomatic @insightman @MarkClarity @Robert_Alabama @Danks @Mattematical @rreyes @JohnT @Thirty Six @alter @JimK @Zarradeth @ClarityBill @leop @NorCalPete @BrianRC @Al Dorundo I specifically requested that Autel send me an acknowledgement when authorization has been completed, and when I get it, I will post another status update here.
Autel has authorized the serial numbers for the 17 members above... They made this comment: "these serial numbers are ready to download for Andriod phone, user should pick up Honda first. " I think what this means is that you should establish your account and choose Honda as your vehicle. It will probably install 2.01 initially before offering an upgrade to 2.01.54. Please share any experiences you have with applying this upgrade that may assist others. It has been so long for me that I don't remember details.
I can confirm that the download for 2.01.54 shows up. It took a few tries to actually download it though. Kept telling me 'waiting' or 'get file size'. It is currently downloading extremely slowly. Won't be till tonight that I can test it regardless.
All I did was open the app, and a new Honda version was ready to download! Thanks a million, @MrFixit !!! I just got my first electric power train report
Got mine to work. 48.6 aH, 2019 with around 22,400 mi. went to Google Play and installed Autel MaxiAP200 on my Android phone. Opened MaxiAP200 and followed the prompts to bind to the AP200 device via Scan the QR code Started my Clarity Plugged in the AP200 In the MaxiAP200 app I paired to the AP200 Went to VCI Manager and checked Firmware - it updated I went to Mall and added Honda Was prompted to add Autel-Asia app from Google Play - just followed the prompts to do this Went into Diagonostics and followed the prompts to USA > Control Unit > Electric Powertrain > Life data Results!
Excellent ! Your result is very close to mine. Our mileage is almost identical, and my capacity is 49.1 (within 1% of yours).
When I scanned my QR code, the app reported "VCI serial number incorrect." I've sent a "comment" to Autel support and have begun holding my breath.
So I did Diagnostics, Electric power train, live data. Under Battery Pack Capacity it says 55.0 Ah. That can't be right can it? Mine is a 2018 22,000miles. I've used less than 250litres of gas.
Thanks MrFixit and Danks - your instructions were invaluable... All done, result obtained 50.3 - same as Car Scanner Pro with Vgate. Tom thanks for doing all the work with Autel and getting us the beta - it is much appreciated. At the end of all this saga; I prefer the simplicity of Car Scanner... Autel bends my brain too much. Cheers John
And a question.... I installed the Autel package on my cell phone... Can I duplicate the install on my tablet? Thanks
Autel no longer supports tablets, and it will not download to a tablet from the Play Store, BUT - I found that I could install it on a tablet by side-loading the .apk. Your mileage may vary. The big advantage of Autel is that is a MUCH more comprehensive set of diagnostics (going well beyond the Electric Powertrain), and it can produce very nice formatted reports in .pdf format.
I tried saving the PDF file on my phone, but was either unable to do so or unable to find it after I did. I managed to share it via email to my email account. Also, when comparing my PDF file to the one you posted at the start of this thread, I noticed that the VINs are the same. Is the VIN tied to the beta test or is that something we can change to our VINs and not break it working?
