  1. It sounds like things are finally happening for real. It's all suddenly become sort of mundane. Now instead of waiting, speculating and bitching, I'm just waiting. Maybe Hyundai will return to form soon and screw something up! I need something to fill the void.

  3. Has anyone ever seen evidence of Kona EV accessories? I Googled today and pulled a blank. I have never seen the Kona EV brochure that mdsweb published a sliver of. Does it show available accessories at all? I'm interested in floor and cargo liners and mud flaps. I don't think regular Kona stuff would necessarily fit.

Yes I agree things are happening, but misinformation is still the order of the day. Surprisingly instead of feeling elated after leaving Hyundai, I felt grumpy as all get out. lol

I got the brochure today. It has an acessories list on page 16. Our sales rep said no accessories are available yet. Listed ones were: Cargo Tray, Entry Guard (set of four stainless steel guards), Cross Rails for luggage carrier, Premium All-Weather Floor Liners (they look like Weather tech ones).

  9. Thanks. I'll have to see if my dealer has any brochures. I was also wondering when Hyundai would move the Kona EV out of the "Future Vehicles" side of the website so that the build and accessories tools would become active.

My dealer has tried to call me but I will maybe talk to him tomorrow if the mood strikes me. Now they can wait on me .

  11. As I said yesterday, the dealer’s computer shows that my car is now landed here in B.C. I saw the computer screen which had release / delivery dates, vin numbers and both interior and exterior colours. That’s how the dealer and I found out that my interior colour was black rather than the grey I ordered. He said he would switch my car for a different VIN because that person had cancelled. The manager called again today to tell me that the VIN WAS FORMALLY SWITCHED and I would now be receiving the correct colour when the vehicle is delivered next week.

The cars now landed in B.C. definitely are not being sent to other provinces.

Sheesh is all I can say. It makes more sense what you say Bill than what our salesman said about all the cars on the ground going east. It will quite the day when one of us actually gets a car!

So my dealer j just called me once again (6:00 pm) and he informed me that this is the last day to back out . From this time forward Hyundai will be charging the dealers $1500.00 for every cancelled order . Which if that happens the dealer would just pass that along to the next person .

So I told him that we hear nothing then at the eleventh hour Hyundai decides to press is customers and still with no information this is what they want. Shabby just shabby .I can really see allot of court cases in this type of business practice.

  15. Hyundai wouldn't have a leg to stand on in enforcing anything. They haven't held up their end on a single promise they made or procedure they outlined.

This is a feature that I am very keen to try. It is called Auto Recuperation or Smart Recuperation. It has been talked about a lot on the UK forum

Here is the compressed version of the entire brochure. Accessories are on pg 17.

Had a quick convo with my sales rep regarding colour situation - turns out they did have me down for a Chalk white with black interior I'm good with that. (I may have selected that in the online reservation form) I'm also going to try to forego the $499 "WIRELESS PROTECT" add-on that they pass off as mandatory. They claim that they put it on every car they sell including used ones. ok... So I asked, well is it mandatory? He could not give me a straight answer. I would rather put that $ towards some accessories (maybe cargo tray on pg 17). Anyone have experience dealing with that weird add-on?

Oh and he also mentioned that VIN's will be available VERY SOON for Ontario region - within a day or so he thinks. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for sharing CJC - amazing feature - it's like a combination of regen braking, smart cruise control and collision avoidance all in one. What a great idea.

You are welcome. Pretty cool feature imo. I am not an adaptive cruise control type (my husband can't live without it). But I would turn on Smart Recuperation routinely from what I have read. It seems a very handy thing that is being guided by the radar.

PS Page 315 in the Kona Electric owner's manual has the instructions on Smart Recuperation.

It may be sooner than you think. GLOVIS CLIPPER just docked in Vancouver, 5 am PST. Glovis is the vehicle shipping line owned by Hyundai. The bright green ship image is an electronic version transmitted several times an hour, imposed on a Google satellite view. The two turquoise-blue circles are the tug/tow harbour boats that assist in the docking. This location is NOT Annacis Island, but further west on the Fraser river, at the junction of Steveston Ave., just east of Hwy 99. (for those of you who want to go down with your cameras and binoculars). This site has more rail loading facilities than Annacis Island, so perhaps you people in the east might see your cars soon. I've been told that western dealers (ie. Calgary) get our cars by auto carrier from Vancouver.
