Strongly suggest you return that warranty. For not much more you can get Honda Care for 8 years and will cover a lot more...

Best price today is from Hyannis.

In any case, congrats on the new Clarity.

I don’t know why I keep looking at this thread! We are nearby and paid a couple hundred less than you so pretty close (based on Costco price a month ago). I felt like we should have negotiated a little lower as we didn’t have to walk out but we were in a hurry. It makes me feel better that you called around as I didn’t haha! I don’t know why these aren’t selling like crazy here although I’m finally seeing more around so maybe sales are picking up.

Wait till Saturday, walk in after 7 pm and you will get a really good price.

Do all dealers in the dfw area have dealer add ons?

Paid $34,200 OTD (w/out sales tax) for a green Touring(no dealer add-ons) today . I'm in the Indy area and it's a total buyer's market here. All it really took to get down that low was getting a quote from Truecar and from there going back and forth between them and 2 other dealerships.

I haven't spoken to anyone who is familiar with a Clarity and the Honda staff knew little more. The first sales person kept pushing sports mode during the test drive so I'm not sure he really understood what a PHEV is. The second sales person was at least completely honest and told me I probably know a lot more about the Clarity than he did (which is probably no more than anyone reading this post :) ) It's really a shame because I would bet most people still rely on sales people to help guide them and the Clarity could sell pretty well if there was a sales staff to help educate customers.

Also, I was surprised but the Honda Care plans offered by the local finance guy were pretty much the exact same rate as College Hills and only $60 more than the Hyannis quotes (at least for the D78 plan). I'm sure he would have matched Hyannis had I asked...but I'm waiting until I receive the 2018 tax refund before I pick up Honda Care.

Proud owner of Honda Clarity Touring as of 30 minutes ago! Purchased at Huggins Honda (North Richland Hills, Texas - DFW area) Price before TTL is $34,337.99 and $36,900 OTD including dealer add ons (tint, wheel locks, mud flaps, trunk tray), 33 miles on the car, and higher VIN/June 2018 production date. I went to Lute Riley but they would only do $37,000 (even if they gave someone $36k a few weeks ago) so went to Huggins. Shopped around and most turned down the $37k OTD price. Autonation Lewisville went down to $36,800 but lower VIN/2017 production date with no add ons included so I didn't like that. I really just want to see a "36" infront of the final price. Thanks to my husband's graduate schooling, we were also able to take advantage of Honda's new college grad bonus for $500 which they don't deduct from the selling price but they add it on the downpayment side and a 2% back for the credit card for some of the downpayment.

So really, it come's out to about $36,350 #winning! Still a bit more compared to other states but this is the best I can do in DFW area.

    Salesguy: Berron Ware

Great experience. No pressure sales tactics.

Thank you guys for sharing information in this forum for me to get a fair deal.

It is best to post sales price without TTL, trade or doc fees, since these vary by state.

What location is this? Costco may have different discounts for different locations. Or may be there was a different promotion from Honda that sweetened it for you.

Amount of energy and time needed to save that last penny goes up exponentially as you reach end of the stick. Every time I've done that, I've been disappointed at something else because later I find out how I could have done better . This time I said, let me enjoy the car and not waste too much energy on this.

Concord Costco so could be a bit cheaper I suppose. Not sure why they sent me there as Berkeley is closer and I would have bought from them! I checked prices through Costco and Usaa - Costco was much better and left at that. Jealous of some of the deals here though!

Pricing is different by geographical region. Dealers bid with Costco for price for different models for a particular area, and Costco awards it to the dealer. Oddly, when I first tried it in NJ, Cotsco offered me two dealers as options, one with more savings than the other one (without giving me the prices). In the end, there wasn't any difference between the two after dealer options. One dealer had 1400 worth of invisible crap (UV etching, nitro, paint and fabric protection), while the other one had only 400 worth of more "visible" crap (trunk tray, wheel locks, mud guards).

But I also was trying to get a PA dealer, I still got an NJ dealer, but their price was at least 1500 higher - this is because PA is not a ZEV state and was not getting the dealer cash available for ZEV state dealers.

Oh, and by the time I actually purchased the car (about 10 days after I got the original quote) the price had gone up a few hundred dollars - they printed the new Costco price, but honored the original one since it was still valid.

Hmm, when you say OTD, did you mean including the sales tax + doc fee + title + registration ?

That's what OTD generally means. If yes, what was the price before any of this ?

    .
Final price w/out ttl was 34000 flat.
The 34200 included a 199 doc + title fee and 1.25 tire tax. I excluded sales tax since it varies so widely

I am not sure why but we had an awful time getting a good price on one of these in NC. We got $34,500 before tax and tags on a Touring with wheel locks and mud guards. We tried Costco and Truecar and this was the best negotiated price out of about 12 different dealers in the area. I haven't bought a new Honda since my S2000 in 2002 and I was surprised how difficult the dealers were to work with. And they all put thousands of dollars of accessories on, jacking the price way up. Anyway, we got fairly recent build and the color we wanted, so we are happy.
