Welcome to Canada and to be clear we are paying notably more in equivalent US $ and we won't get power seat and still no delivery, can you believe that .No delivery where there is demand and supply where there is no demand

For all the complaining here, including myself.
    U.S. MSRP = $48, 737CDN
    CDN MSRP = $43, 900CDN

    U.S. MSRP -$4kU.S. = $43, 537

Did i get the math right?

Because it is made offshore there is the 6.1% import duty. There is a $295 import fee which includes a basic inspection required before licensing.

Also the warranty is voided so that should be assigned a $ value.

We poor Canadians are being forced to endure this very first world problem. Someone call the U.N. please, I can't afford our high cellphone rates.

    ^^
adding perspective. I am relatively very privileged in this world and I feel thankful for that.

Finally got an answer from my dealership. He said they finally got an allocation from Honda, but they are going to have to check all the orders to see if I will get a car or not. What kind of crap is that for customer service. This smells like touring vs base model crap:

Anyone got any news from Ottawa Honda?

I have been talking to Nick Estephan the sales manager. at Ottawa Honda We have had a green touring on order since mar 21. He says no word on a green one but he may be able to get one of a different colour. We turned him down at this point. He seems like a good guy and is trying.

Hope these rumours that 2018 production will shut down soon and 2019 models not available till next January are just that :rumours. We are taking our chances.

    Just as an aside:

Can anyone make sense of a car company not ramping up production to meet demand that is clearly there and persistent? I called Honda Canada and they want nothing to do with the issue. They claim it is a Honda Japan issue and they could only refer me to Ottawa Honda. Can anyone think of how to contact Honda in Japan and ask what is going on and how to fix it?

If you do please share the idea. Perhaps dozens or hundreds of emails will convince them the demand is there.

I have to agree with you. This is a mess, we are literally on a forum complaining about waiting for a car and not getting any details from the car company (Honda). At least Tesla gives you a window, these guys don't know if anything is coming or being made. Just plain pathetic. Just might go get a Volt instead.

I might also do this. But I really don’t like the rear middle seat, even if I would never sit there.

Unless you know Japanese, it is probably futile in complaining. I’m sure Honda Canada has complained and the queue must be large enough for them to notice.

My dealer has even said many people have canceled due to their frustration of waiting like they did with the new Type-R. The only alternative car is the Volt or Ioniq depending on your daily commute. I ordered the grey touring on April 8, my bill of sale shows July 8. I doubt I’ll get mine on that date.

Yes I also contacted Honda Canada just to be returned to the dealer. I also posted on their facebook page. When I told them that I did not mind calling Honda Japan( I was civil ) , they deleted my post...lol

If we can find 1 good email for the COO of production in Japan, we could email them. Email will naturally go to this admins, but if there is many of them then it will be brought to his\her attention.

    That sounds strange.
From that last time I knew of it Honda Canada does have Japanese execs working in the building. In fact they run the show, work side by side with others in Honda Canada in the same office space.
Honda is the importer, has the Honda name, make a profit blah blah blah. Is Honda Canada just there to run interference sometimes. So Honda Canada is saying Honda is an unreachable entity that is not accountable or have responsibility to the customer? Strange.

Btw, I ordered a green Touring from Ottawa Honda on March 9 and also don't have an ETA. Just letting you know we're both waiting for the same car.
