I am planning on ordering mine this weekend. I am certain that if the PCs are elected, DoFo will end the rebate. If I have an order, the prior government commitment may have a chance of being fulfilled.

agreed, it does seem like wishful thinking. i will say i'm willing to pay it to get the car, but really feel like it's been bait and switch: i went through this with the egolf but base units were part of the first delivery so got what i delivered.

Numbers don’t matter. Dealership took the order and agreed to provide you with a certain vehicle. If the fail to do so, you are entitled to damages if you suffered any.

Having to pay $4k extra because they failed to provide the base model would be $4k of damages.

So they either comp the difference, or you go to small claims to get the $4k PLUS legal costs, extra for your wasted time, etc.

If the conservatives cancel the rebate program they will likely cancel for new orders after X date.

Keeping your existing order gives you best chance at the rebate.

Yeah fair point. I guess my concern/frustration is that I had an agreed upon trade in value, went through the credit application etc... and now I'm sure all of the numbers will change when the 2019 does finally come out. Guess it's time to get some guarantees from the dealership in writing!

Same here, it is more a frustration when you have a trade in vehicle, credit application, etc. Also frustration in wondering how much the dealer really knows, like did they really try to sell something they knew they couldn't get or were they completely clueless? My car is close to a major service if I don't get this car in a few months and lose the rebate, I might as well buy a civic as that's probably what I'll lose...:D

My sales rep who was previously responsive, I haven't heard from in almost a week even though I called and left email. It's looking bad for me. :(

The Clarity was actually the car that fit my needs, there really isn't another replacement out there that meets the size, distance, price. I don't even know if I give this up what I would get.

Almost the exact same thing has happened to me! My Sales rep has been fairly responsive, but just not really giving me answers to my questions (even questions outside the Clarity that I ask.)

I'm with you too, the Clarity fits my needs extremely well...I've looked at other EVs like the Ioniq etc... but I just like the size of the Clarity. I'm hoping I can have a level setting conversation with my sales rep today and get some things in writing.

At the end of the day, they are sales reps. I suspect they have a good understanding of delivery schedules etc, however - they employ the usual tactics for that "deposit" once you put it in, you are locked - at least for 90 days.

on a different note, carguru inventory now down to 5

My friend keep patience. Do not compromise car for short waiting of X month, when you look at bigger picture. My wife always says " get what you want rather than what is available" You will keep this car for a long time , so some patience will help in long run.
As I indicated to you , rebate is a function of booking date not a function of delivery date , so there is 99% chances that if you already have paid deposit and booked and have receipt from Honda , you will get a car and rebate both , it is just a matter of time.

At this moment , rebate is a function of booking date , not a delivery date. Also there will be lawsuit if they do not give rebate to us and paid to others on " Booking date " concept earlier. Since this rebate are not coming from any one's pocket ( from government , which is our money) , they can cancel for new orders not existing orders

Same here too, I'm trying to be patient and only call on Mondays for an update haha
My current car is 10 years old and the engine is vibrating so much that I can feel it while holding the steering wheel. Need a car soon and if I don't get the Clarity by mid June, I think I'll go Accord Hybrid :-/

I am almost sure that we will not get within one month , but also have a feel that we are very close, so week of July 1 or 2nd week will be max and suggest you keep patience. this cat will be with u for 10 yrs , so 2 month in big picture will not be a matter. This car is a combination of tesla and Prius , so it is best of two world and is worth of that wait. I am determined with this car even I have to wait till Jan 2019 unless something batter comes in market , which I highly doubt it.

I called them yesterday and he indicated that I will most likely get car within one month and right after that I got e mail from same sales rep in 15 min saying that " manager told me that we will let you know in next little while when the vehicle has landed the VIN#".............. I am not sure what that means , did I get VIN or they will tell me VIN when the car is landed from ship ..? I am not clear at all.

I am not sure on that. If they do have VIN , why they did not give it to me. I will try calling again..

I was told the same, will get the VIN when the car arrives at the port in Canada, then a few weeks to bring it over to GTA

a few weeks from port to dealer? That seems excessive.
