So one article claims there are 10 e-Golf and the second, the EU manufacturers will overtake Tesla in 2021. So I checked recent sales and the top are Japanese, Korean, and USA manufacturers. A BMW plug-in shows up midway in the lists:

I have no doubt that the EU manufacturers have had a "come to Jesus" moment. Just VW cheating killed the diesels and even with 48V, diesel is not coming back.

Other than BMW, the rest have been sitting on their hands. Worse, there are reports BMW reassigned priorities a year ago. Yet BMW is the only diesel manufacturer who passed the 2015 diesel emissions in the road test that caught VW.

One thing we've found is Tesla continues to innovate and produce new product. To think Tesla will just remain a passive competitor is to severely underestimate Elon Musk.

These "studies" and/or "forecasts" by marketing research firms are merely biased propaganda aimed at enticing one or more companies into paying them lots of money to "prove" whatever they think various companies want to be proved. It's just a form of propaganda made on spec. What they release publicly is intended to entice companies to spend the big bucks to get the "whole report".

What would be amusing and entertaining is if someone actually analyzed a series of these "forecasts" from a few years back, and graded them for accuracy... which would be pretty low!
