Multiple System Warnings

    Don't get stressed over it - we're at nearly 15,000 miles and it only occurred the one time when I originally started the thread and I haven't even had the update yet.

    Hello KentuckyKen, would you take a picture of the 4 body plugs and where they are located at? I am experiencing road noise and perhaps mine has the same issues. Thanks!

    Here is the diagram from the PDI.
    The rear ones are hidden directly behind the angle iron weld on forntjt jack point. The fronts are about 6” from body edge. Despite what the PDI said, I find they seem to make only a small difference in sound level.

    I had an appointment at the Honda dealer today. I showed them your reply and the software patches you noted above. They updated the PCM and cleaned the sensors, which I thought were pretty clean. They didn't tell what they updated the PCM with.
    Hopefully this won't happen again.
    I love the car, also. I use the econ mode most of the time getting back and forth to work. I charge the car at my local high school or town hall for free. I only use HV mode for longer trips.

    Is there a download link to the SB 18-079 file? I have seen the SB 18-069 download (HV mileage) but not the one for the multiple system warnings. If there is no link,could someone please post it.

    We have owned a Clarity since February (the first one our local Indiana dealer sold). We had the multiple system warnings problem occur in March on weekend when the dealer's service department was closed. We got the car home and I ended up disconnecting the 12V battery as we still had the warnings. I noticed when I did so that both battery terminals had some corrosion. I did the usual cleaning with a terminal cleaning tool. We had a second multiple system warnings when we returned from a three plus week trip in early July. This time the problem corrected itself within a minute or two. However, this time I checked the 12V battery voltage immediately on seeing the warning. For some reason, the battery voltage was in the mid-11V range after the three weeks of no use. I had tested the 12V battery CCA when I purchased the Clarity and every few months since. The CCA is 395A today and was a bit over 400A at purchase. Finally, both of the suspected DTC show up on an OBDII scanner.

    Thank you everyone for posting those service bulletin numbers. I had crazy warnings pop up on my dashboard once and it was scary. They eventually went away. When I took my car in for replacement of the side panel that's coning off, I told them about it. They said nothing they could do until I gave them the number... Lazys just didn't want to look it up I'm sure.

    All they need to do is plug in the computer and read the error codes. From the codes it would tell them what bulletins to apply. I sure would be complaining!

    Thanks to all who provided the information regarding all of the error codes, went to dealer today with the 3 codes and they clear them and "updated" software.

    Well it finally happened to me. Even though I knew what it was and it'd be safe to drive it like that, it's still a little unnerving. I plugged a cheaper code reader in it and got two codes, P100C and P0010. I tried clearing them but that didn't work.

    On about the fourth reboot it finally cleared up, but when I ran a new code read session I still got the same codes.

    So when I go in for my first service hopefully the codes are stored and I can get them to apply the update and hope for the best.

    Less than 200 miles on my Clarity and I just received the multiple system warning yesterday. I tried restarting the car after a few hours rest and still the same messages. I then powered on the car without pressing the brakes to start engine, turned off, then restarted engine and all the warnings went away. Called service today and they said likely a glitch and no need to evaluate as they would not be able to retrieve the error codes without the warnings. Crossing my fingers and hoping this is the last of that. Of interest, the error messages followed after I used the Honda link app to cool off the car for about 5-10 minutes on a hot day. Not sure if this had anything to do with it.

    Just get dealer to do the update for this. Service Bulletin 18-079.
    18-069 is the SB for the erroneously high HV range estimate. Have that done at same time if you haven’t already.
    Don’t let them try to avoid it by not looking them up or telling you they are not for your VIN. They both say they are for all VINS.

    They are outright lying to you. The codes are kept in memory indefinitely. When I took mine in for the updates I had no errors showing and they found the codes P01000 and P100C.

    Hey all, I took my car in to the dealer to do the 18-079 update. Wow. They just called me and they said they did the update but the PCM board (I have no idea what that is) fried at the end. My car is totally undriveable. They said they called Honda and they said theyve seen it happen a couple of times and (they said) it will likely end up in a recall for our car but they just haven't had enough yet. They've got me in a loaner car until they fix it so I'm not too upset. I just wanted to let everyone know what happened.

    Add one more to the list, I bought the car over the July Fourth weekend and today with 2800 miles I got the three warning lights, looks like I missed the service bulletin by about a week. :mad: I have an appointment for tomorrow morning so they can upload the patch.

    This is twice this board has saved me a heart attack, once for the XM radio/preconditioning issue and now for these warning lights! Thanks folks!

  22. It happened to me this evening as I was backing out of the supermarket parking space (7756 miles). This is the first time for me and I have a service appointment for tomorrow. Hopefully, it will go better than last time when I was in for my first A1 service and the body plugs.
     
  23. When my wife pulled out of the garage this morning she got a warning for Brake System Problem and 3 Other messages: TPMS/ Electric Parking Brake Problem/RDM Problem. Despite the EV battery being fully charged during the night on level II JuiceBox the EV range only showed 35 miles. We bought the Clarity just over two weeks ago and have used mostly battery since taking delivery. Before delivery they said they applied all the latest software updates. Last night we finally used the battery enough to run ICE engine for about two miles before getting home to charge. This morning the warning and messages appeared. After reading through this thread I checked the 12V battery voltage and it was 12.5V and the battery health eye showed it is good. At that voltage it was about 65% charged. When I pulled the car back into the garage to charge the 12V battery the warning and other messages cleared but the check engine light remained since the codes are probably still in the computer. I charged the 12V battery with my NOCO Genius battery charger. After I charged the voltage was 13.1V. I am left to wonder if the dealer didn't do all the software update 18-079, and/or the warnings are related to 12V battery voltage getting too low before car recharges it, and/or HV mode kicking in for such a short time killed the 12V battery enough to trigger the warnings ect. I have a service appointment for the morning. I suspect the check engine light will go out before I get there. I have an OBD II reader so I may see what the codes are before they are gone. I will post an update.
