I agree EV range. Since the update the range reading has been extremely accurate.

Does anyone know what the Climate Control and 3 way water valve issue is?
I have a nagging feeling that my Clarity is using electric heat for the cabin instead of engine coolant heat (based on MPG loss when heat is on).
No data to back that up, but when I keep my coat on for a trip in HV mode and leave the heat off, I get summer MPG (about 60).
I thought the drop in MPG this winter was cold oil, but not so sure now.

The service bulletin for this issue (linked above) reads that the climate control unit trips an unrelated trouble code, not that it malfunctions. There may be a relationship to your question, but it's not obvious from reading the bulletin. Do you mean you have drop in mpg, or in EV range?

Gas engines see a drop in mileage in winter as well as EV engines. Not as dramatic but about 10% in my experience,

    Drop in MPG.
Ordinarily I would have the heat on, but I was testing on my last trip and with the heat off, my MPG went back to 60 (what I get in the summer).
The heat should have zero effect on my MPG if it's using waste engine coolant heat.
Next trip, I'll try with the heat on again.

Wow, 60 miles per gallon in winter with the ICE is great. It may be the cabin heat is augmented, especially while ICE is warming up, with the battery. Have you had the climate control SB done yet?

Car build was 11/2018 so I think all the updates were done ???

I am getting 60 miles this winter as long as I don't turn on the climate control (no A/C, no heat).

Southern California so nice in the winter....

    Need to get that done.
I am excluding warm up time.
There seems to be a big difference in mileage with heat on and there shouldn't be.
FYI, the electric heating element is over $2600 retail and $1500 wholesale.
I'd like to unplug that to test or at least pull the fuse.
Granted I will lose pre-heat during that time, but I want to know what is happening.

I find that if I turn the fan down to say 2 bars, the car warms up just fine and does not seem to suck down the battery as much.
